A hoodie commission for  tiggerpup of their character Lerato. They specifically asked for a hoodie without a face, and man, i am happy with how this turned out!

While the sewing process itself was average (not terribly complex or anything - typical embroidery, etc), actually -acquiring- the particular shade of burnt orange was a CHALLENGE> oh man was it a challenge.

I scoured no less than seven different fabric shops trying to find the right match, no no avail. Finally we found something that looked perfect online and ordered it. but when it arrived, it was neon orange and not at ALL what had been pictured. The shop wouldn't refund us the shipping (which, given that it was mailed to Canada, was nothing to sneeze at. basically the cost of the fabric and then some), so we decided to try dying the fabric instead.

Having never dyed fabric before, it took two tries, but WOW, it worked well, and the result has me pretty darn proud.

Not to mention i'm thrilled to have gotten to sew such a neat jacket!
