An art jam project for August 17th!
Theme: Favorite Pokemon
Revised Piece: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/3492301/
(I chose to revise an older piece involving my trainer 'Amsel' embraced by his first pokemon partner 'Vana' a Gardevoir he raised from a Ralts when he was just five years old.
Amsel was soo excited about training pokemon like his mother, he stole three poke' balls from his mother's purse and goes romping out of town and stumbles upon a Ralts that has been seemingly abandoned. Instead of trying to catch the scared and hungry creature, he invited it to stay with him, with his 'mind's eye', he was able to see that it was a 'her' and reached out his hand in friendship, though physically blind, he can 'see' the life forces and auras of different pokemon and humans alike.
Encouraging her son's curiosity, she allows him to keep the ralts to raise it on the solemn promise of taking care of it himself, despite her angry husband's objections. The boy kept his promise, to the point where the ralts began to speak between their minds, they 'spoke' with each other and shared their thoughts to the point where their auras perfectly became synchronized, creating a powerful psychic and loving bond.
A few years would go by. Just before the night of his mother's trip to the World Pokemon Tournament, his family was awakened by planes overhead. Eventually, bloody screams were followed by hellish explosions, taking his mother and father in the process, with only her Absol surviving the bombed out room Amsel's parents were sleeping in. Luckily the poke'ball that was holding her Absol was seemingly untouched, rolled out on the floor from her scorched purse. With his town burning around him, his left eye gouged out by debris, he unleashes a torrent of powerful physic energy in a fit of childish rage, only to wake up the next day riding on a truck driven by a group of friendly soldiers. Amsel sees his Ralts was awake, her head covered with a bandage smiling at him with relieved tears, holding his mother's last poke'ball.)
The Story Soo far:
Amsel is a psychic trainer that lives in a world where a dark cultist group called 'The Voice', is trying to revive a dead God and declared world war for control of various ritual sites scatted across the planet. Guided by an unseen force, they travel with a powerful artifact, converting or destroying non-believers of the Old Gods in their wake. As they gather great hordes of dark and ghost pokemon to fight for them, they also seek to destroy all psychic individuals, whether they be human or pokemon alike, finding only 'Binders' (rare, gifted psychics that can empower pokemon) to be of any use to them.
After surviving the first Genocide Attack on his country ten years ago, Amsel and Vana must travel across war torn Europe deep into the cult's territory to find his captured sister and to discover for himself why they need her to awaken their 'God'. Even though he feels his sister may be lost already, he will do his best to get her back. Guided by the voices of endless nothingness that took soo many before him, with his love, his partner always close by, Amsel is determined to defy the darkening world around him.
Will he get his sister back whilst climbing the piles of the dead, or with an army of loyal kin by his side?
