The Professor groaned. His shoulder ached, but he was thankful that Persia's quick thinking had saved them from the crash. He sat up, hearing the gunfire as his companion shot at the attacking wolf skull. Cries of pain made him look around, and he saw the police that accompanied them trying frantically to defend themselves. The Professor counted six skulls in total from a range of species. The largest appeared to be some sort of bear species, but he also saw a cat, deer, it's antlers tipped in sharp metal, bovine, and even a human skull. Long metallic cables, ending in a variety of claws, needles, blades and lighters whipped about. Eerie glows emitted from tubes that protruded from the brain cases. The Professor frowned. If the Doll maker had created these, then he was a genius. Twisted in his ideals, but still a genius. A sharp cry snapped him from his thoughts and he saw Persia stumble, blood flowing from a wound on her arm as the wolf skull attacked her.
"Hang on, Persia," he called out.
He scrambled to his feet and drew his gun, firing of a trio of quick shots. Sparks flew as a bullet stuck the bronze plate on the back of the skull. It floated back, hovering for a moment before turning it's attention to him. The leering jaws filled the Professor's vision and he aimed his gun. Suddenly the skull spun and tumbled out of the sky, smoke and mysterious gasses wafting from it as it hit the ground. The Professor looked around and spotted Persia grinning at him.
"No dogs gonna beat this cat," she said, referring to her own metallic feline features.
The Professor chuckled. The other skulls were dropping too as the police overcame the initial shock of the attack, shooting them down. The Professor picked up the wolf skull and turned it over in his hands. It was a work of art. He needed to find out how the Doll Maker created it...
