"Obviously, washing up at the sink wasn't going to work, so John hauled himself into the shower and started up the water. The warmth and vague massage-like feel of the water was pleasant enough to soothe him to sleep . . . and an hour later, he woke up with sore legs from standing that long with that much--his belly had grown! Surely he hadn't fallen asleep with his mouth around the nozzle!

No, his pups had simply grown that big. But at least he was clean, and they weren't jostling anymore. While he toweled off, he realized even his boxers wouldn't fit him anymore ... so he wrapped the towel around his waist and waddled back to the bedroom, absently rubbing his belly and wondering what labor was going to feel like."
