Nicknames/Alias: “Shadow Priest” (given due to his strong supernatural beliefs and rumours of him practicing in the dark arts), “Red-Eyes” (given by members of the previous crew he was in. He rolls his eyes at this one and deems it un-creative).

Markings, tattoos and other features: His body is covered in gold runic type and tribal markings. He sometimes paints his nails/claws blood red.
Likes: jewelry (real stones and real rare metals), opportunities, good hauls and takes, keeping up his appearance, open ocean (just as good looking if there's a fat and slow merchant ship on it), supernatural, music, song & dance.
Dislikes: Un-ordered or a badly kept ship & its crew, alcohol (more so it's effects and impairing judgement. He likes to keep a clear and sharp mind), naval fleets & all the artillery that would come with facing that amount, ignorance, pursuing what is said to be cursed, mainland politics (however he respects rankings at sea and the pirate code).
Personality: Lance, like most of his kind, has no interest in species affairs. He'd sooner walk away from it or turn a blind eye than interfere. Unless they are a friend or part of the same crew. Lance is extremely loyal to who he serves under and who he serves with. He may not be so open or reach out for a personal relationship with them but he will look out for them and give them his full efforts.
As a pirate, he is not as merciless as most he has been involved with (yet he is definitely no push over). Lance is tactical and thoughtful. He has been known to spare lives unless he has been given the order of no quarter.
Lance can be quite witty and isn't so afraid to speak his mind. He might be a bit mindful in the presence of his Captain however. He's quite laid back and down to earth, taking people for who they are. He finds it easy to get along with most (either neutrally or if he likes them).
His beliefs in the supernatural are strong and may effect his judgement and perspective towards ventures. Cursed gold is definitely something he will avoid and advise strongly against and will sulk and try to stay out of the way if he is to be dragged along in its pursuit anyway. He isn't afraid of spirits or the damned, more cautious. Some sightings or words he may take as signs, messages or omens. He doesn't care if he is made fun of or poked at for his beliefs.
Relationships/History: Born and raised in his early years in Taipa, Lance was part of normal Weaver society. He was a single child and raised by his single mother. She raised him on stories and myths, including ones of his father. She portrayed him as a sea faring adventurer who had all sorts of exciting adventures on the sea. Whether they were true or not, Lance didn't care and they drew his own interests into sailing and having adventures of his own.
Lance lost his mother early in life to disease. With no other family and big dreams, he tried offering his services to passing boats and ships as a cabin boy. Eventually he was taken up by a small merchant vessel.
As time went by, Lance moved between different vessels and different crews. He picked up many skills and talents along the way and soon discovered he was a pretty good thief and could hold his own in a fight. Upon working one day and transporting goods, the ship he was on was attacked and raided by pirates. Lance was picked up by them along with a few others and thus his career in pirating truly started. He still jumped between crews and ships until his latest one where he was titled Boatswain and then First Mate when the former one was killed in combat.
The time soon came when his Captain was slain by officials and a new Captain was to be elected. Lance won the votes from his knowledge and level head but he declined and left the crew and ship as he didn't want that responsibility.
