One of only 6 preserved Panzer VI 'Tiger' tanks left in the world, this tank was made inoperable by its crew after running out of fuel whilst escaping the Canadians. It was restored in the 1970s and placed by the side of a road as a permanent reminder to the horrors that this tank wreaked on the Allied forces in Normandy. Here, one of the staff is inspecting the damage to make sure it's sturdy enough for us to climb on it.

I can highly recommend a visit! One place I'd recommend you go is the Cafe Gondree in Benouville, near Pegasus Bridge. It was the first house to be liberated on D-Day, and the owner of the cafe (Arlette Gondree) was the first person to be liberated on D-Day, when she was a 5-year old girl.
