Another attempt at painting. I was having some serious problems getting anything to shade properly, particularly whatever planet that is supposed to be, and making anything geometrically curved is REALLY hard with cheap-ass brushes and dollar store acrylics. Still, from a distance (about fifteen feet away?) it actually looks kind of neat, and gives me some hope.
I am definitely considering going a little more abstract in the future, and also trying to bang out some smaller still-lifes, either painting something I can look at or trying to replicate images out of magazines or Google Image Search. That, and color blending. I've got a book with a whole chapter on how to blend acrylics, and I plan to dive into that in September, when I need a break from schoolwork (my painting area is right next to my office area, which is itself wedged between the laundry area and the storage area... my basement has a lot of areas).
In the meantime... damn you, circles. Damn you straight to hell.
