Sonic Kids: The Good Life
Part 1: Day in the Life of Sonic
It’s the year thirty two twenty four on the planet Mobius, and the capital city of Mobotropolis is currently in the third year of a happy peace time. It was three years ago that the end of the Great War was concluded and a lasting peace was finally signed into place. The city had been recovering ever since, along with its citizens, who were all finally returning to their normal lives, with all thoughts of war finally leaving their minds after such a long war. The peace was greatly needed.
This peace almost didn’t last though, as three years ago shortly after the end of the Great War, the royal army warlord, Julian Kintober, was discovered tampering with Minister of Science, Dr. Charles the Hedgehog’s medical roboticizer device. Charles’ had been building the device for medical reason, as a means to replace lost body parts, or to repair people’s bodies that were in critical condition. As Charles’ was doing a sweep of the device after his younger brother Jules was critically wounded in battle, as he was being forced to test the device on his younger brother or risk losing him, Charles discovered vast tampering on the device. Viewing his security footage, he discovered that Julian was responsible for the tampering. Julian was soon arrested and thrown into a deep underground prison in the city. Dr. Charles just barely had enough time to repair his device for his brother who was quickly slipping away due to his critical injuries. However, thanks to the roboticizer, after Jules was placed into the machine, he managed to overcome his injuries. Jules lost his right eye, which was replaced by a robotic eye, and a piece of his head and brain were replaced with a metal plate and some servos that are attached to his brain to keep him stable. Dr. Charles’ device was a complete success and is now used to save critical lives in the medical field. After this incident, the position was filled by someone more trustworthy, and people were able to continue their lives in peace.
Today now, Dr. Charles the Hedgehog, now knighted to Sir Charles the Hedgehog due to his exemplary services to the crown, thanks to his innovative invention the roboticizer, lives next door to his brother Jules, who lives happily with his wife Bernadette or Bernie as everyone calls her, along with their four year old son, Sonic the Hedgehog. Sonic was a hyper little four year old that was often getting into everything around the house, and was a bit of a handful to deal with at times. As much as he was a handful though, his parents loved him very much, and always encouraged him in his interest to explore and discover. He was always trying to find new places to roam too when possible, though his mom does somewhat keep a close eye on her little boy, as she doesn’t want him growing up too fast, which was okay with him. In the end, the three hedgehogs live a happy, calm life in the city of Mobotropolis, but an active life as well. They never know what each day will hold in store for them, and today was just another day in their normal everyday lives.
It was around eleven in the afternoon in the hedgehog household as Bernadette hedgehog was in the middle of folding her laundry on the couch in the living room ,while her son Sonic sat on the floor by the TV playing his video game that he got for his birthday a couple of weeks ago. Bernie was wearing her favorite purple dress as she hums a small tune during her laundry task as it helped pass the time while she does her chore. Bernie used to be a smart tactical soldier back during the Great War, but after peace, she gave up her military career to become a stay at home mom for her son, while her husband Jules remains in military service once he was cleared for service after recovering from his injuries. The four year old hedgehog, Sonic, was happily enjoying the video games his parents gave him while sitting on the floor wearing only a white diaper around his waist and some fuzzy white socks on his feet. When at home, it was his most preferred casual wear, so it was what the young hedgehog was often found wearing when he was at home.
Bernie smiles over at Sonic as she can see him quite into his video game as he was moving around himself and even standing up when things were getting more intense during the game. She was glad they had gotten him something that Sonic liked for his birthday, but also something that got him to sit still once in a while. Sonic was always moving around so much, it was a welcome sight to see Sonic actually sitting around for a while to enjoy something that didn’t involve him running all over the place. The video game didn’t drain Sonic’s energy as much as his other activities, but he was in the room with his mother visiting in a way. That was what mattered to Bernie as she watches Sonic playing while folding their clothes.
It wasn’t long after that, that the front door opened as Jules was returning home for his lunch hour. The moment Jules walks into the room, he immediately announces himself to his family. “Daddy’s home!” he calls out happily as he makes his way into the living room.
When Jules makes his way around the corner, he immediately has a surprise as Sonic has paused his game and jumped up against his dad’s chest and into his arms to hug him. “Hi Dad!” he says happily and excited that his father was home now.
Jules couldn’t help but hug his son back and hold him against his chest to show his affection towards his son. “Well hello to you too.” says Jules chuckling as he allows Sonic to stay in his arms for the time being as he brings him back into the living room with him. Sonic had never been bothered by Jules robotic right eye as it all he has ever really known him to look like. The eye glows the same color as his other eye anyway, so it did match his real eye on the left side. Jules’ fur had also long ago grown back around the metal plate in his head, so much so that it really wasn’t noticeable anymore that Jules does have metal components inside the right side of his head. He looked just like a normal hedgehog again, with the exception of his eye.
Bernie couldn’t help but chuckle at the cuteness of Jules carrying Sonic back into the living room with him, as she had found it very cute how Sonic loved his dad so much and couldn’t wait for him to come home from work. “Well aren’t you two just adorable.” says Bernie happily to the two of them.
Jules begins making his way over towards the couch when he sees Bernie sitting there doing laundry and making her little comment about them. Jules couldn’t help but laugh as he leans over and gives Bernie a kiss on the head before sitting down and sitting Sonic into his lap. “Yeah yeah, I know we are just adorable aren’t we son?” asks Jules looking down to Sonic chuckling as he says this. It immediately got a chuckle from Sonic who brushes his quills like his father does sometimes when he is showing off a bit because of his looks.
Bernie couldn’t help but chuckle at this, and how Sonic was imitating his father as well. The two of them really were alike personality wise. “Hehe, well either way, I’m glad to see you got to come home for lunch today. I guess Amadeus must want to go home for lunch as well then?” asks Bernie figuring that must be why Jules was allowed home for lunch today. If it wasn’t, then more than likely, Jules would be eating lunch with the others back in the lunch area at the barracks.
“Yeah, Amadeus said he wanted to go check up on Rosemary this afternoon, since he has been a bit busy lately apparently. I don’t blame him though. If he would let us come home early every day for lunch, I wouldn’t complain that much.” says Jules nodding back to Bernie in response. This wasn’t super common to get to come home for lunch during the week at least, but that was simply due to how busy things have been lately with how much the soldiers of the city have been helping with the still going on reconstruction of the city. The city was definitely much improved at this point, but there was still work to be done.
“Well good for him on checking up on her. I need to get together with her soon anyway. I’ll have to give her a call up later and see if she has any plans tomorrow. If she is free, I may see about letting Sonic stay with Rosie tomorrow.” says Bernie in response.
Hearing this, Sonic’s ears do perk up a bit, since he does enjoy when he is allowed to go visit Rosie and some of his friends that are there as well. The little blue hedgehog looked fine with the idea from the smile on his face as he looks up to his mom. She could see it as well, and knew that it was rarely a problem with him that she may drop him at the daycare from time to time. Sonic was very sociable, and it was a good opportunity to allow him to play with other kids.
“Well looks like he’s fine with it and its fine with me dear. I’ll leave you some Mobiums if you do go out tomorrow, so you can get some lunch tomorrow then.” says Jules looking down to Sonic to see his glee with the idea of the daycare and then back up to Bernie who looked happy at his little suggestion as well.
“I’ll definitely look forward to it then if Rosemary is free. Well then, why don’t I go start getting lunch ready for my boys then? Would you like to come pick out what you want dear?” asks Bernie curiously. Most of the time for dinner, Bernie would simply making dinner and surprise Jules with whatever he would be having that night, but since he was home just for a while for lunch, she figured she would give him the option of picking something out on his own for a change.
Jules nods to this figuring it was a good idea. He didn’t want Bernie working too hard for a quick lunch, when he could easily pick something easy for her that he would still enjoy. “I think I will come pick something out with you Hun.” says Jules in response.
Bernie nods and begins to get up, leaving her incomplete laundry on the couch as she stands up ready to head to the kitchen with Jules. She would finish her laundry later, as it wasn’t going anywhere. They didn’t have a huge amount of it anyway.
Jules begins to get up as well, bringing Sonic with him as he gets up from the couch. When he does though, Jules bends over to put Sonic down back into his feet now that he was up. “You go play son. I’ll be back in a bit to join you.” says Jules rubbing Sonic on his head before patting him his diapered bottom to send him on his way.
Sonic immediately makes his way back over towards his video game so that he could unpause the game and get back to it. Sonic does look back and watch as his parents both start to walk off towards the kitchen to go pick out what they would be having for lunch. Lunch definitely sounded good to Sonic, though it really depended on what they were having of course. Sonic was a bit of a picky eater, and he definitely had his major likes and dislikes when it came to food. It was one of the few tricky things that Jules and Bernie had to deal with him, as he was actually just like Jules was when he was this age.
After drooling just a bit out the side of his mouth thinking of lunch, which ends up staying on the side of his mouth at the moment, Sonic finally takes a seat back down onto the living room floor and unpauses his video game to get back to playing. He had been having fun before his dad got home, and he was itching to get back to his game. Sonic was playing a game that was about a little space ship that was flying around in space shooting all sorts of debris and other man made items out of the sky that are trying to hurt people down on the planet below. He looked to be having a fun time with it, and definitely enjoying his birthday present.
Though after a little bit of starting his game, Sonic does start to get a little bit of a tingling sensation that does get his attention. Sonic simply smiles though at it and continues to play his video game before giving just a light push. A moment later, there is a light hissing sound as Sonic soon begins peeing into his diaper. The blue hedgehog immediately has a small smile on his face as he relaxes as the pee flows out and into the diaper where it slides around inside to find a place to be absorbed. The hissing sound even picks up a bit as he was peeing a bit harder now as well. He couldn’t help but grin, since it felt good to get it out and get it into the diaper. The diaper was beginning to feel pretty soggy under him as he was going, which he liked as well. The older he has gotten, the more he has been able to go, and the more he liked it. Though eventually, the stream does die down to a quick trickle before dying down completely. Sonic lets out an immediately sigh of relief once he was done. He couldn’t help but wiggle around a bit, feeling the diaper squish under him as he does so before giggling just a bit. And with that, he was already back to his game, which he had only sort of drowned out for a moment while he was going. Either way, he was done now and going right back to playing.
It wasn’t that long before Jules comes walking back into the living room after picking out with Bernie what he would be having for lunch. Jules looks and sees Sonic back in front of his video game, a common thing the last several weeks after getting him the game. Jules couldn’t help but smile as he goes over and has a seat on the floor next to Sonic to spend a little time with his son while he could. “What you playing here son?” asks Jules looking at the TV to see what was going on there.
“This is Space Debris Destruction dad! There are these bad people that want to throw trash and other junk into space so that it will fly around and eventually fall on us all so that we will all get hit by it!” says Sonic explaining his game in a bit of a dramatic way.
Jules scratches his head at this but still smiles to Sonic as he tries to understand it. “Well then, that sounds interesting. Why don’t you show me how to play?” asks Jules curiously wondering if it was as simple as Sonic made it look. If a four year old could figure it out so easily, then surely he could get the hang of this. That was what he thought.
“Sure! Okay, to move you push these arrow buttons up, down, and to the sides. When you want to shoot, you press the one button, and when you want to go faster you hold down the two button. When you want to shoot a bomb you hold down the arrow in the direction you want to shoot and push both buttons at the same time. When there is a blue flash on the screen and you press both buttons back and forth three times very quickly, you can warp to miss a stage. You gotta move all around quickly to avoid the junk or shoot it down when it gets in your way. You will sometimes also fight a boss that is flying around in some big ship. He doesn’t want you to win as he is the one putting on the junk up there. You gotta beat him.” explains Sonic in a rather quick amount of time. It all seemed very simple to him now that he had been playing at the games for some time now, but this wasn’t so to Jules.
Right after Sonic finished his quick explanation, Jules stares at the screen and the controller that was in Sonic’s hand and immediately looked confused. “Ummm, right. And you understand all this son?” asks Jules looking down to Sonic in a bit of amazement.
“Uh huh! It’s easy!” says Sonic happily as he holds up the controller for Jules to have as he would like to watch his dad try the game as well.
Jules was about to pass on trying this game stuff out, but the moment he looks down to Sonic holding up the controller to him with a big happy smile on his face of excitement, he immediately sighs and takes the controller. “Alright, how hard can this be?” says Jules as he figures it was at least worth a try.
Sonic scoots back a bit to allow his dad center stage and so that he could watch what his dad does at the game. Jules does press the start button on the controller and does begin playing the game right away figuring it was best to just dive right into it. That was his style anyway, though as it usually was, that style didn’t always work out for him. It was just the same here as Jules barely gets past some of the first few pieces of junk in the game before hitting something and taking some damage.
“Use the shield! Run up and dodge!” yells out Sonic starting to bark some commands at his father as he points at the game trying to show his dad what to do almost immediately after they started. Jules was already looking a bit panicky and confused as he does try and do some of the things Sonic is mention, but he continues to make mistakes and look very confused as he takes more damage in the game.
“You’re going to die! Watch out!” yells Sonic again starting to wiggle around more and point at the TV excitedly while trying to point some pretty obvious things out to Jules. Sonic might be having a good time with this, but it was clear Jules was become a bit stressed from this as he had jumped into this game rather quickly without even really watching Sonic play it much. He had watched a bit on right after Sonic got the game to make sure his son was going to like the toy they had gotten for him, but he hadn’t thought to pay more attention to what was going on in the game in case he wanted to try it himself.
After a bit more panicky button pushing, Jules eventually takes too much damage from the junk and his ship blows up in the game as the game over symbol comes up for him to announce that he was done. “Awww, bummer.” says Sonic a little sad that his dad had died, but he never really lost the happy look of having his dad there playing the game with him.
Jules sits the controller down and shakes his head a bit before looking back down to Sonic. “Wow, that was something for sure. Who knew I was giving you something like this and that you would actually understand it so well. I can see you might be going to take after your mothers tactical side if you enjoy and understand this so well.” says Jules chuckling as he rubs Sonic on the head to show that he was actually impressed that his four year old sun was understanding this game and actually having a lot of fun with it as well.
Sonic simply giggles at that as he grabs the controller that his dad put on the floor and proceeds to show his dad more now how to actually play the game and show him by doing it himself now. Jules was rather amazed as well at how well Sonic actually does in the game as he gets through the first level of the game without taking that much damage and actually completes it on top of that. Sonic really understood this and clearly enjoyed it. Jules was happy he got something for his son that he likes, though he would have to make sure he doesn’t spend too much time on it, as he does like his son being active to burn off some of the energy he has in him.
This continued for around ten more minutes before Bernie peeks her head into the room once she was finished preparing what she had made for lunch. “Lunch is read boys, come and get It.” says Bernie happily letting the boys know that it was ready. She did find it cute when she peeked in and saw Jules and Sonic playing on the floor together like that. Sonic definitely enjoyed spending time with his dad when he could.
“Sure thing dear! Come on son, lunch time.” says Jules as he pokes at Sonic a bit to get his attention to make sure he pauses his game so that they could go eat lunch now.
“Okay dad.” says Sonic as he stands up and walks over and presses the button on the console to pause the game that they had been playing for later.
It was at this point though that Jules notices, as Sonic is walking over to the console, that Sonic’s diaper was sagging between his legs and flopping as he was walking. It was a clear sign that Sonic was in need of a diaper change. “Hey Sonic, come here to dad for a moment.” says Jules as he motions for Sonic to come over to him as he would still like to check the diaper just to be sure.
Sonic wasn’t sure why he was being called over at the moment, but he does as his dad asks and does head over to Jules when asked to do so. Jules immediately pokes at Sonic’s diaper a bit just to check it and could feel how warm it was and how saggy it was, which only confirmed to him that it likely was in need of a change. “I think someone overdue for a diaper change.” says Jules smiling as he points to Sonic.
Sonic immediately grins though as he backs up a step while looking up to his dad. “Nu uh!” says Sonic making sure he was just out of Jules’ reach as he says this. He couldn’t help but say no as he didn’t mind that his diaper was soggy, and he really wasn’t in a hurry to have it changed either.
“Now Sonic, you know you need to be changed, so why don’t we go get it?” asks Jules as he reaches out to try and pick up Sonic so that he could take him to be changed. However, right as he tries to do this, Sonic immediately scurries just out of Jules’ reach as he runs and jumps up onto the couch with an easy jump as he chuckles at his dad missing him.
Jules sighs and rolls his eyes a bit as he turns around after seeing Sonic zip a bit quickly from his reach and over to the couch. The soggy, saggy diaper only slowed the four year old down a bit, as Sonic knew how to move effectively in it around the house, even when it was wet like it was. Jules gets up and begins to make his way over towards the couch so that he could try and get Sonic again, but right as Jules was getting over to the bouncing toddler on the couch, Sonic immediately jumps off the couch and runs to the other side of the room again laughing as he does so. Sonic was definitely enjoying this game as he enjoyed keep away quite a bit. Jules wasn’t exactly pleased with it, but he couldn’t exactly get mad at Sonic either. Sonic has been like this for a long while, and it was sort of similar to how he and his brother were like when they were this age. They were always a bit mischievous and Sonic definitely had picked up their old mischievous side.
“Sonic, you gotta hold still, or I can’t change you.” says Jules as he begins to make his way over towards Sonic once again.
Yet, the results were no different as Sonic soon zipped past Jules once again as he stands in the doorway to the hall and sticks his tongue out playfully to his father. “Hehe, that’s the idea.” says Sonic jokingly as he shows more that he was enjoying what he was doing.
Jules sighs once again about to take another attempt at grabbing after Sonic, before he hears a voice behind him. “Sonic, if you let you dad change you, you can have one of your uncle’s chilidogs.” says Bernie who was standing in the doorway watching what was going on for the last few moments. Bernie was used to this game as Sonic never seemed to be a fan of getting diaper changes, unless he either asks for them or he is motivated to get one.
Jules looked back to Bernie for a moment and then back to Sonic, who was already gone from where he was. Though unlike before, Sonic soon peaks around the corner to look back up to his dad and notices that he wasn’t moving. “You coming dad?” asks Sonic curiously as he was already ready to head to his room to get a diaper change now.
Jules look back to Bernie slightly embarrassed and chuckling a little nervously. “Thanks Hun.” says Jules knowing that Bernie had made the task look a lot similar than it had been to him.
“No worries dear. Just gotta know how to motivate the boy.” she says chuckling to her husband. Bernie had always known how to get Sonic to do what she wanted him to do when she wanted him to do it, but it did take time to learn what motivates Sonic and what he will and won’t do when he is ready to do so. Sonic had so much of his dad in him, that she knew she just had to be patient with him, but in the end, she knew what he liked and what he will and won’t do and when.
Jules nods before heading to the hall where Sonic walks ahead of him and into his bedroom, which was just down the hall from the living room. Now that Sonic was cooperating and actually not minding and also wanting his diaper changed, he didn’t mind going along on his own to his changing table that was in his bedroom. Even before Jules could get into the room, Sonic was already walking up the set of stairs at the end of the table so that he could get himself up onto the table. Sonic liked being put up there, but he also liked being able to do it himself as well.
Sonic quickly pulled himself up on the table and lies down as Jules was entering the room and making his way towards his son’s changing table. “Ready dad.” says Sonic happily letting his dad know that he was ready and happy to get a diaper change now.
Jules makes his way over to the table and looks down to his son and chuckles before poking him on the nose. “I can see that silly little hedgehog. Now hold still and let daddy change you into a fresh diaper.” says Jules as he begins to un-tape Sonic’s diaper so that he could begin the change.
Unlike before, Sonic was now patient and holding still for his dad to allow the change to happen. Jules quickly gets the diaper open and already was lifting Sonic’s legs up so that he can slide the diaper out from under him and toss it into the nearby diaper pail. Jules was used to changing diapers by this point, since he and Bernie did take turns with it, at least when it was possible. He hadn’t been that crazy about doing this at first when Sonic was just born, but he quickly got used to it and it doesn’t bug him one bit anymore.
Jules grabs the baby wipes nearby and does begin to dab them against Sonic to dry him off. Since it looked like the wetting hadn’t happened that long ago, the fur was still a bit damp and taking a little longer than if it wasn’t as fresh. Either way, it had to be done, and Sonic was being a good little boy about it as he waits patiently for it to happen. Sonic wasn’t exactly known for his patience, but the thought of a chilidog for going through with this bought him some temporary patience. It likely wouldn’t last, but thankfully for Jules, it was enough to allow the wiping process to go by quickly.
Sonic was humming a little tune as this was going on, as this didn’t feel that bad to be done, but he was still thinking about the food that was coming soon. He barely even notices as his legs go up again as Jules is sliding another white diaper under his bottom. Sonic could feel it go under him and does smile just a bit, as the feel of it was pretty soft to him. His patience continues even as the powder is even sprinkled onto him and into the diaper. Though this was a sign to him that the change was about to be over and he was already starting to get a little antsy at this point now. He was looking like he was going to bolt the moment he could.
Once Jules was satisfied with the powder, he finally pulls the diaper up between his son’s legs and quickly tapes both sides into place with one smooth motion with both hands. He smiles and reaches down and grabs Sonic, who looked to be about to move the moment the tapes were in place. Sonic did squeak a bit when he was grabbed and pulled into his dad’s arms like that, but Jules simply chuckles and holds his son against his chest now. “There, all done. We are going to walk back to the kitchen nicely for mom okay.” says Jules looking down to Sonic to make sure he was okay with that.
Sonic does still look at the door like he wants to bolt to the kitchen ahead of his dad, but since he was already caught and against his dad’s chest, he does eventually nod to him with a smile. “Alright, we can try the slow approach.” says Sonic nodding in agreement figuring he may as well go along with it.
With Sonic cooperating, Jules is able to make his way back through the house and into the kitchen where Bernie already had the food on the plate ready for the three of them to have lunch. Sonic could see his already when he enters the room with his dad and does start squirming in his arms wanting to be loose to go get it. “It’s not going to go anywhere you know. Let me at least get you into your seat.” says Jules chuckling at how excited Sonic tends to get at meal time.
Bernie couldn’t help but chuckle as she sits both Jules and her own plates onto the table as she watches Jules handling the squirming Sonic. “Sonic, just be good for a moment and mommy will get your chilidog okay.” she says letting Sonic know he was going to get it and he didn’t need to be so eager for it.
This did keep Sonic from squirming enough so that Jules could get him into the high chair at his spot at the table. They usually keep Sonic in a high chair still, not only because it fits him better than a booster, but it makes him have to stay at the table and not bolt the moment he is finished with his food to allow it to go down for a bit. Sonic didn’t mind the high chair that much, as it was comfortable to sit in, but he wasn’t a big fan of simply being made to sit around for a while after he was done eating.
Bernie is finally able to serve Sonic his chilidog on a plate once Jules had him in the high chair. Jules was quick to sit down and start his own lunch just like Sonic as the two of them immediately do dive into their meals. Bernie was just happy that the two of them looked happy to be getting a home cooked meal, and both of them getting something that they both enjoyed. She was a slower eater than the two of them, but even if they finish first, they usually stick around while she eats and finishes as well.
The three of them do have a nice lunch as Jules and Bernie get a chance to have a good chat while they can, though they do have to keep an eye on Sonic, as he was a pretty messy eater. He had successfully gotten chili all over the table of his high chair and some of it around his mouth as well, which Bernie had to help clean off of him, much to his annoyance of having his face wiped clean. Being in the highchair though, Sonic had to sit there and wait after he was done for both of his parents to be finished before he was let go to go roam the house or play his game again.
As Bernie was getting the dishes up to put them in the sink with Jules happily lending her a hand, since she had gone through the trouble of making lunch special for him, the doorbell does ring. Jules raises a hand to Bernie with a smile as he puts some dishes into the sink. “I got it.” he says offering to get it and not have to trouble Bernie to stop what she is doing to go get it.
The doorbell had also gotten Sonic’s attention, and had drawn him to the corner around from the door to see who could be here as his dad makes his way past him and heads for the door to answer it once he makes his way there. Sonic didn’t want to just run up to the door though, since he wanted to see who it was first before he does that. Sonic was sociable, but his mom has fussed at him before about running at the front door. It was the one thing that he knows could possibly lead to punishment without question.
Jules eventually reaches the door and opens it up, and what greats him was his commander Amadeus Prower. However, he wasn’t alone, as Amadeus was holding his two year old son Miles in his arms. The two year old fox was clung to his dad happily wearing a blue t-shirt with a plane on it, a white diaper around his waist and a pair of socks and sneakers on his feet. The kid looked happy to be with his dad as he lies against his chest comfortably with both of his tails wagging quite a bit. “Oh hello Amadeus. I was just getting ready to head back.” says Jules being friendly and using his commanders’ proper name since the two of them were friends outside of their jobs. He would only use his proper name when in a setting like this, and not on the job, since Amadeus does way outrank Jules.
“It’s fine Jules. I wasn’t coming by to bring you back.” says Amadeus calmly. Amadeus stood slightly taller than Jules but not much, however, Amadeus dresses in a proper general’s uniform that he normally wears to show his rank and authority. Amadeus also is wearing an eye patch on his left eye, since like Jules, he lost one of his eyes back during the Great War. Amadeus’ injuries weren’t anywhere near as severe as Jules’ injuries had been, and he had rejected the idea of getting a robotic eye later when it was offered to him when the roboticizer was proven to work.
“I see you brought your boy with you as well.” says Jules reaching out to pet Miles on the head, which does get a smile out of the young fox kit.
“Yeah I was bringing him by hoping Bernadette wouldn’t mind looking after him for the rest of the day so that Rosemary could get a bit of a break.” says Amadeus curiously wondering if that was alright.
“Sure. Miles and Sonic get along just as fine as we always have, and Bernie really enjoys having the boys. She was planning on trying to take Rosemary out tomorrow anyway, so she might get a longer break tomorrow as well.” says Jules gladly accepting the offer, and figuring that Bernie wouldn’t mind.
“Oh that would be great. Rosemary needs to get out more. She is cooped up in the house too much lately caring for Miles and doing housework that she needs to get out and have a day for herself.” says Amadeus agreeing that that would be a good idea for both the girls.
“Bernie will be happy to hear that. Let me go tell Bernie that I’m heading out and then we can head on back. You can let Miles go play with Sonic if you want.” says Jules looking down instinctively already knowing that Sonic was down by his feet when he had seen who was at the door. The Prowers were long time family friends, and Sonic definitely enjoyed when Miles got to come over as well as he was one of his favorite playmates.
Sonic was indeed by Jules’ legs looking up at Amadeus and Miles, who he and his friends usually call Tails due to his twin tails, as he was excited to see them. He had known to stay quiet though while the adults were talking, but it definitely looked like he was ready for Tails to be put down to see him so that they could both go play together.
Jules simply pats Sonic on the head before turning to get tell Bernie he was leaving. Amadeus also begins to stand Tails up onto his feet as he lowers him down the floor to be with Sonic. “You two be good today alright Miles?” asks Amadeus just letting his boy know that he should be well behaved while at someone else’s house.
Tails immediately nods and smiles up to his dad as he was let down to be with Sonic and agrees right away. “Yes daddy. I’ll be good.” says Tails.
“Alright, well daddy or mommy will be by later to pick you up. Have fun today.” says Amadeus kneeling down to kiss Tails on the head before he lets the two boys go now.
Tails happily giggles at the kiss from his dad before turning to Sonic who was already motioning for Tails to come with him so that the two of them could play. The little hedgehog and fox kit toddle off together back into the living room now to enjoy their day together as Jules and Amadeus soon both depart to get back to work. Tails was looking very happy to be with Sonic, who he considered like a brother, as the two of them spend quite a bit of time together with each other, and Sonic sort of looks out for the two year old as well. No one dares mess with Tails, as it usually would get Sonic on someone’s bad side, and even though Sonic was naturally pretty nice, he didn’t like bullies at all and would always stand up to them.
Today however, it looked to be a good day of just the two of them getting to spend some time together as Sonic immediately invites Tails over to his game so that the fox could join in or simply watch him play as he often times enjoyed doing as well. Bernie eventually comes in and sees the two boys in front of the TV and couldn’t help but smile as the two of them enjoy their day as she soon gets back to her laundry and other chores that she would need to do. It was turning out to be another good day for them all.

Yes, I finally posted the first chapter of this story. I'll get to part 2 eventually, but right now, I'm just finally glad that the first part is finally posted. As you can see, this is sort of a twist on the original archieverse, so you can essentially just call this an alternate reality of what ifs and such like that. That is perfectly doable in that universe.
I know this may be a bit long and in a slightly different format than some of you may be used to, but I sure hope you guys like this. This is a lot of work. ^^ I hope it is alright to read. If you want a better formatted version, the Deviantart version maintains my formatting completely. This still is alright too of course.

Part 1: Day in the Life of Sonic
It’s the year thirty two twenty four on the planet Mobius, and the capital city of Mobotropolis is currently in the third year of a happy peace time. It was three years ago that the end of the Great War was concluded and a lasting peace was finally signed into place. The city had been recovering ever since, along with its citizens, who were all finally returning to their normal lives, with all thoughts of war finally leaving their minds after such a long war. The peace was greatly needed.
This peace almost didn’t last though, as three years ago shortly after the end of the Great War, the royal army warlord, Julian Kintober, was discovered tampering with Minister of Science, Dr. Charles the Hedgehog’s medical roboticizer device. Charles’ had been building the device for medical reason, as a means to replace lost body parts, or to repair people’s bodies that were in critical condition. As Charles’ was doing a sweep of the device after his younger brother Jules was critically wounded in battle, as he was being forced to test the device on his younger brother or risk losing him, Charles discovered vast tampering on the device. Viewing his security footage, he discovered that Julian was responsible for the tampering. Julian was soon arrested and thrown into a deep underground prison in the city. Dr. Charles just barely had enough time to repair his device for his brother who was quickly slipping away due to his critical injuries. However, thanks to the roboticizer, after Jules was placed into the machine, he managed to overcome his injuries. Jules lost his right eye, which was replaced by a robotic eye, and a piece of his head and brain were replaced with a metal plate and some servos that are attached to his brain to keep him stable. Dr. Charles’ device was a complete success and is now used to save critical lives in the medical field. After this incident, the position was filled by someone more trustworthy, and people were able to continue their lives in peace.
Today now, Dr. Charles the Hedgehog, now knighted to Sir Charles the Hedgehog due to his exemplary services to the crown, thanks to his innovative invention the roboticizer, lives next door to his brother Jules, who lives happily with his wife Bernadette or Bernie as everyone calls her, along with their four year old son, Sonic the Hedgehog. Sonic was a hyper little four year old that was often getting into everything around the house, and was a bit of a handful to deal with at times. As much as he was a handful though, his parents loved him very much, and always encouraged him in his interest to explore and discover. He was always trying to find new places to roam too when possible, though his mom does somewhat keep a close eye on her little boy, as she doesn’t want him growing up too fast, which was okay with him. In the end, the three hedgehogs live a happy, calm life in the city of Mobotropolis, but an active life as well. They never know what each day will hold in store for them, and today was just another day in their normal everyday lives.
It was around eleven in the afternoon in the hedgehog household as Bernadette hedgehog was in the middle of folding her laundry on the couch in the living room ,while her son Sonic sat on the floor by the TV playing his video game that he got for his birthday a couple of weeks ago. Bernie was wearing her favorite purple dress as she hums a small tune during her laundry task as it helped pass the time while she does her chore. Bernie used to be a smart tactical soldier back during the Great War, but after peace, she gave up her military career to become a stay at home mom for her son, while her husband Jules remains in military service once he was cleared for service after recovering from his injuries. The four year old hedgehog, Sonic, was happily enjoying the video games his parents gave him while sitting on the floor wearing only a white diaper around his waist and some fuzzy white socks on his feet. When at home, it was his most preferred casual wear, so it was what the young hedgehog was often found wearing when he was at home.
Bernie smiles over at Sonic as she can see him quite into his video game as he was moving around himself and even standing up when things were getting more intense during the game. She was glad they had gotten him something that Sonic liked for his birthday, but also something that got him to sit still once in a while. Sonic was always moving around so much, it was a welcome sight to see Sonic actually sitting around for a while to enjoy something that didn’t involve him running all over the place. The video game didn’t drain Sonic’s energy as much as his other activities, but he was in the room with his mother visiting in a way. That was what mattered to Bernie as she watches Sonic playing while folding their clothes.
It wasn’t long after that, that the front door opened as Jules was returning home for his lunch hour. The moment Jules walks into the room, he immediately announces himself to his family. “Daddy’s home!” he calls out happily as he makes his way into the living room.
When Jules makes his way around the corner, he immediately has a surprise as Sonic has paused his game and jumped up against his dad’s chest and into his arms to hug him. “Hi Dad!” he says happily and excited that his father was home now.
Jules couldn’t help but hug his son back and hold him against his chest to show his affection towards his son. “Well hello to you too.” says Jules chuckling as he allows Sonic to stay in his arms for the time being as he brings him back into the living room with him. Sonic had never been bothered by Jules robotic right eye as it all he has ever really known him to look like. The eye glows the same color as his other eye anyway, so it did match his real eye on the left side. Jules’ fur had also long ago grown back around the metal plate in his head, so much so that it really wasn’t noticeable anymore that Jules does have metal components inside the right side of his head. He looked just like a normal hedgehog again, with the exception of his eye.
Bernie couldn’t help but chuckle at the cuteness of Jules carrying Sonic back into the living room with him, as she had found it very cute how Sonic loved his dad so much and couldn’t wait for him to come home from work. “Well aren’t you two just adorable.” says Bernie happily to the two of them.
Jules begins making his way over towards the couch when he sees Bernie sitting there doing laundry and making her little comment about them. Jules couldn’t help but laugh as he leans over and gives Bernie a kiss on the head before sitting down and sitting Sonic into his lap. “Yeah yeah, I know we are just adorable aren’t we son?” asks Jules looking down to Sonic chuckling as he says this. It immediately got a chuckle from Sonic who brushes his quills like his father does sometimes when he is showing off a bit because of his looks.
Bernie couldn’t help but chuckle at this, and how Sonic was imitating his father as well. The two of them really were alike personality wise. “Hehe, well either way, I’m glad to see you got to come home for lunch today. I guess Amadeus must want to go home for lunch as well then?” asks Bernie figuring that must be why Jules was allowed home for lunch today. If it wasn’t, then more than likely, Jules would be eating lunch with the others back in the lunch area at the barracks.
“Yeah, Amadeus said he wanted to go check up on Rosemary this afternoon, since he has been a bit busy lately apparently. I don’t blame him though. If he would let us come home early every day for lunch, I wouldn’t complain that much.” says Jules nodding back to Bernie in response. This wasn’t super common to get to come home for lunch during the week at least, but that was simply due to how busy things have been lately with how much the soldiers of the city have been helping with the still going on reconstruction of the city. The city was definitely much improved at this point, but there was still work to be done.
“Well good for him on checking up on her. I need to get together with her soon anyway. I’ll have to give her a call up later and see if she has any plans tomorrow. If she is free, I may see about letting Sonic stay with Rosie tomorrow.” says Bernie in response.
Hearing this, Sonic’s ears do perk up a bit, since he does enjoy when he is allowed to go visit Rosie and some of his friends that are there as well. The little blue hedgehog looked fine with the idea from the smile on his face as he looks up to his mom. She could see it as well, and knew that it was rarely a problem with him that she may drop him at the daycare from time to time. Sonic was very sociable, and it was a good opportunity to allow him to play with other kids.
“Well looks like he’s fine with it and its fine with me dear. I’ll leave you some Mobiums if you do go out tomorrow, so you can get some lunch tomorrow then.” says Jules looking down to Sonic to see his glee with the idea of the daycare and then back up to Bernie who looked happy at his little suggestion as well.
“I’ll definitely look forward to it then if Rosemary is free. Well then, why don’t I go start getting lunch ready for my boys then? Would you like to come pick out what you want dear?” asks Bernie curiously. Most of the time for dinner, Bernie would simply making dinner and surprise Jules with whatever he would be having that night, but since he was home just for a while for lunch, she figured she would give him the option of picking something out on his own for a change.
Jules nods to this figuring it was a good idea. He didn’t want Bernie working too hard for a quick lunch, when he could easily pick something easy for her that he would still enjoy. “I think I will come pick something out with you Hun.” says Jules in response.
Bernie nods and begins to get up, leaving her incomplete laundry on the couch as she stands up ready to head to the kitchen with Jules. She would finish her laundry later, as it wasn’t going anywhere. They didn’t have a huge amount of it anyway.
Jules begins to get up as well, bringing Sonic with him as he gets up from the couch. When he does though, Jules bends over to put Sonic down back into his feet now that he was up. “You go play son. I’ll be back in a bit to join you.” says Jules rubbing Sonic on his head before patting him his diapered bottom to send him on his way.
Sonic immediately makes his way back over towards his video game so that he could unpause the game and get back to it. Sonic does look back and watch as his parents both start to walk off towards the kitchen to go pick out what they would be having for lunch. Lunch definitely sounded good to Sonic, though it really depended on what they were having of course. Sonic was a bit of a picky eater, and he definitely had his major likes and dislikes when it came to food. It was one of the few tricky things that Jules and Bernie had to deal with him, as he was actually just like Jules was when he was this age.
After drooling just a bit out the side of his mouth thinking of lunch, which ends up staying on the side of his mouth at the moment, Sonic finally takes a seat back down onto the living room floor and unpauses his video game to get back to playing. He had been having fun before his dad got home, and he was itching to get back to his game. Sonic was playing a game that was about a little space ship that was flying around in space shooting all sorts of debris and other man made items out of the sky that are trying to hurt people down on the planet below. He looked to be having a fun time with it, and definitely enjoying his birthday present.
Though after a little bit of starting his game, Sonic does start to get a little bit of a tingling sensation that does get his attention. Sonic simply smiles though at it and continues to play his video game before giving just a light push. A moment later, there is a light hissing sound as Sonic soon begins peeing into his diaper. The blue hedgehog immediately has a small smile on his face as he relaxes as the pee flows out and into the diaper where it slides around inside to find a place to be absorbed. The hissing sound even picks up a bit as he was peeing a bit harder now as well. He couldn’t help but grin, since it felt good to get it out and get it into the diaper. The diaper was beginning to feel pretty soggy under him as he was going, which he liked as well. The older he has gotten, the more he has been able to go, and the more he liked it. Though eventually, the stream does die down to a quick trickle before dying down completely. Sonic lets out an immediately sigh of relief once he was done. He couldn’t help but wiggle around a bit, feeling the diaper squish under him as he does so before giggling just a bit. And with that, he was already back to his game, which he had only sort of drowned out for a moment while he was going. Either way, he was done now and going right back to playing.
It wasn’t that long before Jules comes walking back into the living room after picking out with Bernie what he would be having for lunch. Jules looks and sees Sonic back in front of his video game, a common thing the last several weeks after getting him the game. Jules couldn’t help but smile as he goes over and has a seat on the floor next to Sonic to spend a little time with his son while he could. “What you playing here son?” asks Jules looking at the TV to see what was going on there.
“This is Space Debris Destruction dad! There are these bad people that want to throw trash and other junk into space so that it will fly around and eventually fall on us all so that we will all get hit by it!” says Sonic explaining his game in a bit of a dramatic way.
Jules scratches his head at this but still smiles to Sonic as he tries to understand it. “Well then, that sounds interesting. Why don’t you show me how to play?” asks Jules curiously wondering if it was as simple as Sonic made it look. If a four year old could figure it out so easily, then surely he could get the hang of this. That was what he thought.
“Sure! Okay, to move you push these arrow buttons up, down, and to the sides. When you want to shoot, you press the one button, and when you want to go faster you hold down the two button. When you want to shoot a bomb you hold down the arrow in the direction you want to shoot and push both buttons at the same time. When there is a blue flash on the screen and you press both buttons back and forth three times very quickly, you can warp to miss a stage. You gotta move all around quickly to avoid the junk or shoot it down when it gets in your way. You will sometimes also fight a boss that is flying around in some big ship. He doesn’t want you to win as he is the one putting on the junk up there. You gotta beat him.” explains Sonic in a rather quick amount of time. It all seemed very simple to him now that he had been playing at the games for some time now, but this wasn’t so to Jules.
Right after Sonic finished his quick explanation, Jules stares at the screen and the controller that was in Sonic’s hand and immediately looked confused. “Ummm, right. And you understand all this son?” asks Jules looking down to Sonic in a bit of amazement.
“Uh huh! It’s easy!” says Sonic happily as he holds up the controller for Jules to have as he would like to watch his dad try the game as well.
Jules was about to pass on trying this game stuff out, but the moment he looks down to Sonic holding up the controller to him with a big happy smile on his face of excitement, he immediately sighs and takes the controller. “Alright, how hard can this be?” says Jules as he figures it was at least worth a try.
Sonic scoots back a bit to allow his dad center stage and so that he could watch what his dad does at the game. Jules does press the start button on the controller and does begin playing the game right away figuring it was best to just dive right into it. That was his style anyway, though as it usually was, that style didn’t always work out for him. It was just the same here as Jules barely gets past some of the first few pieces of junk in the game before hitting something and taking some damage.
“Use the shield! Run up and dodge!” yells out Sonic starting to bark some commands at his father as he points at the game trying to show his dad what to do almost immediately after they started. Jules was already looking a bit panicky and confused as he does try and do some of the things Sonic is mention, but he continues to make mistakes and look very confused as he takes more damage in the game.
“You’re going to die! Watch out!” yells Sonic again starting to wiggle around more and point at the TV excitedly while trying to point some pretty obvious things out to Jules. Sonic might be having a good time with this, but it was clear Jules was become a bit stressed from this as he had jumped into this game rather quickly without even really watching Sonic play it much. He had watched a bit on right after Sonic got the game to make sure his son was going to like the toy they had gotten for him, but he hadn’t thought to pay more attention to what was going on in the game in case he wanted to try it himself.
After a bit more panicky button pushing, Jules eventually takes too much damage from the junk and his ship blows up in the game as the game over symbol comes up for him to announce that he was done. “Awww, bummer.” says Sonic a little sad that his dad had died, but he never really lost the happy look of having his dad there playing the game with him.
Jules sits the controller down and shakes his head a bit before looking back down to Sonic. “Wow, that was something for sure. Who knew I was giving you something like this and that you would actually understand it so well. I can see you might be going to take after your mothers tactical side if you enjoy and understand this so well.” says Jules chuckling as he rubs Sonic on the head to show that he was actually impressed that his four year old sun was understanding this game and actually having a lot of fun with it as well.
Sonic simply giggles at that as he grabs the controller that his dad put on the floor and proceeds to show his dad more now how to actually play the game and show him by doing it himself now. Jules was rather amazed as well at how well Sonic actually does in the game as he gets through the first level of the game without taking that much damage and actually completes it on top of that. Sonic really understood this and clearly enjoyed it. Jules was happy he got something for his son that he likes, though he would have to make sure he doesn’t spend too much time on it, as he does like his son being active to burn off some of the energy he has in him.
This continued for around ten more minutes before Bernie peeks her head into the room once she was finished preparing what she had made for lunch. “Lunch is read boys, come and get It.” says Bernie happily letting the boys know that it was ready. She did find it cute when she peeked in and saw Jules and Sonic playing on the floor together like that. Sonic definitely enjoyed spending time with his dad when he could.
“Sure thing dear! Come on son, lunch time.” says Jules as he pokes at Sonic a bit to get his attention to make sure he pauses his game so that they could go eat lunch now.
“Okay dad.” says Sonic as he stands up and walks over and presses the button on the console to pause the game that they had been playing for later.
It was at this point though that Jules notices, as Sonic is walking over to the console, that Sonic’s diaper was sagging between his legs and flopping as he was walking. It was a clear sign that Sonic was in need of a diaper change. “Hey Sonic, come here to dad for a moment.” says Jules as he motions for Sonic to come over to him as he would still like to check the diaper just to be sure.
Sonic wasn’t sure why he was being called over at the moment, but he does as his dad asks and does head over to Jules when asked to do so. Jules immediately pokes at Sonic’s diaper a bit just to check it and could feel how warm it was and how saggy it was, which only confirmed to him that it likely was in need of a change. “I think someone overdue for a diaper change.” says Jules smiling as he points to Sonic.
Sonic immediately grins though as he backs up a step while looking up to his dad. “Nu uh!” says Sonic making sure he was just out of Jules’ reach as he says this. He couldn’t help but say no as he didn’t mind that his diaper was soggy, and he really wasn’t in a hurry to have it changed either.
“Now Sonic, you know you need to be changed, so why don’t we go get it?” asks Jules as he reaches out to try and pick up Sonic so that he could take him to be changed. However, right as he tries to do this, Sonic immediately scurries just out of Jules’ reach as he runs and jumps up onto the couch with an easy jump as he chuckles at his dad missing him.
Jules sighs and rolls his eyes a bit as he turns around after seeing Sonic zip a bit quickly from his reach and over to the couch. The soggy, saggy diaper only slowed the four year old down a bit, as Sonic knew how to move effectively in it around the house, even when it was wet like it was. Jules gets up and begins to make his way over towards the couch so that he could try and get Sonic again, but right as Jules was getting over to the bouncing toddler on the couch, Sonic immediately jumps off the couch and runs to the other side of the room again laughing as he does so. Sonic was definitely enjoying this game as he enjoyed keep away quite a bit. Jules wasn’t exactly pleased with it, but he couldn’t exactly get mad at Sonic either. Sonic has been like this for a long while, and it was sort of similar to how he and his brother were like when they were this age. They were always a bit mischievous and Sonic definitely had picked up their old mischievous side.
“Sonic, you gotta hold still, or I can’t change you.” says Jules as he begins to make his way over towards Sonic once again.
Yet, the results were no different as Sonic soon zipped past Jules once again as he stands in the doorway to the hall and sticks his tongue out playfully to his father. “Hehe, that’s the idea.” says Sonic jokingly as he shows more that he was enjoying what he was doing.
Jules sighs once again about to take another attempt at grabbing after Sonic, before he hears a voice behind him. “Sonic, if you let you dad change you, you can have one of your uncle’s chilidogs.” says Bernie who was standing in the doorway watching what was going on for the last few moments. Bernie was used to this game as Sonic never seemed to be a fan of getting diaper changes, unless he either asks for them or he is motivated to get one.
Jules looked back to Bernie for a moment and then back to Sonic, who was already gone from where he was. Though unlike before, Sonic soon peaks around the corner to look back up to his dad and notices that he wasn’t moving. “You coming dad?” asks Sonic curiously as he was already ready to head to his room to get a diaper change now.
Jules look back to Bernie slightly embarrassed and chuckling a little nervously. “Thanks Hun.” says Jules knowing that Bernie had made the task look a lot similar than it had been to him.
“No worries dear. Just gotta know how to motivate the boy.” she says chuckling to her husband. Bernie had always known how to get Sonic to do what she wanted him to do when she wanted him to do it, but it did take time to learn what motivates Sonic and what he will and won’t do when he is ready to do so. Sonic had so much of his dad in him, that she knew she just had to be patient with him, but in the end, she knew what he liked and what he will and won’t do and when.
Jules nods before heading to the hall where Sonic walks ahead of him and into his bedroom, which was just down the hall from the living room. Now that Sonic was cooperating and actually not minding and also wanting his diaper changed, he didn’t mind going along on his own to his changing table that was in his bedroom. Even before Jules could get into the room, Sonic was already walking up the set of stairs at the end of the table so that he could get himself up onto the table. Sonic liked being put up there, but he also liked being able to do it himself as well.
Sonic quickly pulled himself up on the table and lies down as Jules was entering the room and making his way towards his son’s changing table. “Ready dad.” says Sonic happily letting his dad know that he was ready and happy to get a diaper change now.
Jules makes his way over to the table and looks down to his son and chuckles before poking him on the nose. “I can see that silly little hedgehog. Now hold still and let daddy change you into a fresh diaper.” says Jules as he begins to un-tape Sonic’s diaper so that he could begin the change.
Unlike before, Sonic was now patient and holding still for his dad to allow the change to happen. Jules quickly gets the diaper open and already was lifting Sonic’s legs up so that he can slide the diaper out from under him and toss it into the nearby diaper pail. Jules was used to changing diapers by this point, since he and Bernie did take turns with it, at least when it was possible. He hadn’t been that crazy about doing this at first when Sonic was just born, but he quickly got used to it and it doesn’t bug him one bit anymore.
Jules grabs the baby wipes nearby and does begin to dab them against Sonic to dry him off. Since it looked like the wetting hadn’t happened that long ago, the fur was still a bit damp and taking a little longer than if it wasn’t as fresh. Either way, it had to be done, and Sonic was being a good little boy about it as he waits patiently for it to happen. Sonic wasn’t exactly known for his patience, but the thought of a chilidog for going through with this bought him some temporary patience. It likely wouldn’t last, but thankfully for Jules, it was enough to allow the wiping process to go by quickly.
Sonic was humming a little tune as this was going on, as this didn’t feel that bad to be done, but he was still thinking about the food that was coming soon. He barely even notices as his legs go up again as Jules is sliding another white diaper under his bottom. Sonic could feel it go under him and does smile just a bit, as the feel of it was pretty soft to him. His patience continues even as the powder is even sprinkled onto him and into the diaper. Though this was a sign to him that the change was about to be over and he was already starting to get a little antsy at this point now. He was looking like he was going to bolt the moment he could.
Once Jules was satisfied with the powder, he finally pulls the diaper up between his son’s legs and quickly tapes both sides into place with one smooth motion with both hands. He smiles and reaches down and grabs Sonic, who looked to be about to move the moment the tapes were in place. Sonic did squeak a bit when he was grabbed and pulled into his dad’s arms like that, but Jules simply chuckles and holds his son against his chest now. “There, all done. We are going to walk back to the kitchen nicely for mom okay.” says Jules looking down to Sonic to make sure he was okay with that.
Sonic does still look at the door like he wants to bolt to the kitchen ahead of his dad, but since he was already caught and against his dad’s chest, he does eventually nod to him with a smile. “Alright, we can try the slow approach.” says Sonic nodding in agreement figuring he may as well go along with it.
With Sonic cooperating, Jules is able to make his way back through the house and into the kitchen where Bernie already had the food on the plate ready for the three of them to have lunch. Sonic could see his already when he enters the room with his dad and does start squirming in his arms wanting to be loose to go get it. “It’s not going to go anywhere you know. Let me at least get you into your seat.” says Jules chuckling at how excited Sonic tends to get at meal time.
Bernie couldn’t help but chuckle as she sits both Jules and her own plates onto the table as she watches Jules handling the squirming Sonic. “Sonic, just be good for a moment and mommy will get your chilidog okay.” she says letting Sonic know he was going to get it and he didn’t need to be so eager for it.
This did keep Sonic from squirming enough so that Jules could get him into the high chair at his spot at the table. They usually keep Sonic in a high chair still, not only because it fits him better than a booster, but it makes him have to stay at the table and not bolt the moment he is finished with his food to allow it to go down for a bit. Sonic didn’t mind the high chair that much, as it was comfortable to sit in, but he wasn’t a big fan of simply being made to sit around for a while after he was done eating.
Bernie is finally able to serve Sonic his chilidog on a plate once Jules had him in the high chair. Jules was quick to sit down and start his own lunch just like Sonic as the two of them immediately do dive into their meals. Bernie was just happy that the two of them looked happy to be getting a home cooked meal, and both of them getting something that they both enjoyed. She was a slower eater than the two of them, but even if they finish first, they usually stick around while she eats and finishes as well.
The three of them do have a nice lunch as Jules and Bernie get a chance to have a good chat while they can, though they do have to keep an eye on Sonic, as he was a pretty messy eater. He had successfully gotten chili all over the table of his high chair and some of it around his mouth as well, which Bernie had to help clean off of him, much to his annoyance of having his face wiped clean. Being in the highchair though, Sonic had to sit there and wait after he was done for both of his parents to be finished before he was let go to go roam the house or play his game again.
As Bernie was getting the dishes up to put them in the sink with Jules happily lending her a hand, since she had gone through the trouble of making lunch special for him, the doorbell does ring. Jules raises a hand to Bernie with a smile as he puts some dishes into the sink. “I got it.” he says offering to get it and not have to trouble Bernie to stop what she is doing to go get it.
The doorbell had also gotten Sonic’s attention, and had drawn him to the corner around from the door to see who could be here as his dad makes his way past him and heads for the door to answer it once he makes his way there. Sonic didn’t want to just run up to the door though, since he wanted to see who it was first before he does that. Sonic was sociable, but his mom has fussed at him before about running at the front door. It was the one thing that he knows could possibly lead to punishment without question.
Jules eventually reaches the door and opens it up, and what greats him was his commander Amadeus Prower. However, he wasn’t alone, as Amadeus was holding his two year old son Miles in his arms. The two year old fox was clung to his dad happily wearing a blue t-shirt with a plane on it, a white diaper around his waist and a pair of socks and sneakers on his feet. The kid looked happy to be with his dad as he lies against his chest comfortably with both of his tails wagging quite a bit. “Oh hello Amadeus. I was just getting ready to head back.” says Jules being friendly and using his commanders’ proper name since the two of them were friends outside of their jobs. He would only use his proper name when in a setting like this, and not on the job, since Amadeus does way outrank Jules.
“It’s fine Jules. I wasn’t coming by to bring you back.” says Amadeus calmly. Amadeus stood slightly taller than Jules but not much, however, Amadeus dresses in a proper general’s uniform that he normally wears to show his rank and authority. Amadeus also is wearing an eye patch on his left eye, since like Jules, he lost one of his eyes back during the Great War. Amadeus’ injuries weren’t anywhere near as severe as Jules’ injuries had been, and he had rejected the idea of getting a robotic eye later when it was offered to him when the roboticizer was proven to work.
“I see you brought your boy with you as well.” says Jules reaching out to pet Miles on the head, which does get a smile out of the young fox kit.
“Yeah I was bringing him by hoping Bernadette wouldn’t mind looking after him for the rest of the day so that Rosemary could get a bit of a break.” says Amadeus curiously wondering if that was alright.
“Sure. Miles and Sonic get along just as fine as we always have, and Bernie really enjoys having the boys. She was planning on trying to take Rosemary out tomorrow anyway, so she might get a longer break tomorrow as well.” says Jules gladly accepting the offer, and figuring that Bernie wouldn’t mind.
“Oh that would be great. Rosemary needs to get out more. She is cooped up in the house too much lately caring for Miles and doing housework that she needs to get out and have a day for herself.” says Amadeus agreeing that that would be a good idea for both the girls.
“Bernie will be happy to hear that. Let me go tell Bernie that I’m heading out and then we can head on back. You can let Miles go play with Sonic if you want.” says Jules looking down instinctively already knowing that Sonic was down by his feet when he had seen who was at the door. The Prowers were long time family friends, and Sonic definitely enjoyed when Miles got to come over as well as he was one of his favorite playmates.
Sonic was indeed by Jules’ legs looking up at Amadeus and Miles, who he and his friends usually call Tails due to his twin tails, as he was excited to see them. He had known to stay quiet though while the adults were talking, but it definitely looked like he was ready for Tails to be put down to see him so that they could both go play together.
Jules simply pats Sonic on the head before turning to get tell Bernie he was leaving. Amadeus also begins to stand Tails up onto his feet as he lowers him down the floor to be with Sonic. “You two be good today alright Miles?” asks Amadeus just letting his boy know that he should be well behaved while at someone else’s house.
Tails immediately nods and smiles up to his dad as he was let down to be with Sonic and agrees right away. “Yes daddy. I’ll be good.” says Tails.
“Alright, well daddy or mommy will be by later to pick you up. Have fun today.” says Amadeus kneeling down to kiss Tails on the head before he lets the two boys go now.
Tails happily giggles at the kiss from his dad before turning to Sonic who was already motioning for Tails to come with him so that the two of them could play. The little hedgehog and fox kit toddle off together back into the living room now to enjoy their day together as Jules and Amadeus soon both depart to get back to work. Tails was looking very happy to be with Sonic, who he considered like a brother, as the two of them spend quite a bit of time together with each other, and Sonic sort of looks out for the two year old as well. No one dares mess with Tails, as it usually would get Sonic on someone’s bad side, and even though Sonic was naturally pretty nice, he didn’t like bullies at all and would always stand up to them.
Today however, it looked to be a good day of just the two of them getting to spend some time together as Sonic immediately invites Tails over to his game so that the fox could join in or simply watch him play as he often times enjoyed doing as well. Bernie eventually comes in and sees the two boys in front of the TV and couldn’t help but smile as the two of them enjoy their day as she soon gets back to her laundry and other chores that she would need to do. It was turning out to be another good day for them all.

Yes, I finally posted the first chapter of this story. I'll get to part 2 eventually, but right now, I'm just finally glad that the first part is finally posted. As you can see, this is sort of a twist on the original archieverse, so you can essentially just call this an alternate reality of what ifs and such like that. That is perfectly doable in that universe.
I know this may be a bit long and in a slightly different format than some of you may be used to, but I sure hope you guys like this. This is a lot of work. ^^ I hope it is alright to read. If you want a better formatted version, the Deviantart version maintains my formatting completely. This still is alright too of course.
