[cover] Black hole sun - Soundgarden
"Black Hole Sun"
In my eyes
Indisposed
In disguise
As no one knows
Hides the face
Lies the snake
The sun
In my disgrace
Boiling heat
Summer stench
'Neath the black
The sky looks dead
Call my name
Through the cream
And I'll hear you
Scream again
Black hole sun
Won't you come
And wash away the rain
Black hole sun
Won't you come
Won't you come
Stuttering
Cold and damp
Steal the warm wind
Tired friend
Times are gone
For honest men
And sometimes
Far too long
For snakes
In my shoes
A walking sleep
And my youth
I pray to keep
Heaven send
Hell away
No one sings
Like you
Anymore
Hang my head
Drown my fear
Till you all just
Disappear
Black hole sun
Won't you come
And wash away the rain
Black hole sun
Won't you come
Won't you come
...
Phew.. this one was quite difficult. Not only because it falls totally off my genre but also because of new programms that make mastering a blast. They're still difficult to handle so the outcome might be a bit edgy but i don't want to overdo it and leave it like it is, I like it!
This piece.. I want to dedicate it to
dakattack
He is a dear friend of Zarith and mine who is currently in a kinda tough Situation and i wanted to record this piece for him for I know that soundgarden is at least one of his most favourit bands.

Wow, that was a really good cover. I like your interpretation of Chris Cornell's singing, Of course, no one can sound exactly like he does. Your voice has a lot more mellower tone than Cornell's harshness, but your voice fits the song. I liked your version of the guitar solo. Kim Thaliylyl(however you spell his name? )'s style is pretty much improved slop, which sounds cool for grunge and all. I think i heard some whammy bar spankage in your version.
excellent B)
saw these guys open for sabbath this year in munich, alas the mixing was terrible. Blackholesun still blew me mind right back to my childhood when I first heard it on MTV.
I like your mixing a lot, the drums are very punchy and it has the dynamic range so often missing from modern recordings. The slightly raw guitar sound works well here, giving it an almost Steve Albini vibe.
