two years ago at art camp I got a steel skull cap as a gift at the end. The problem was, it was too pointy to be a good helmet, and I didn't have the skills or supplies to make it fit. This year, I brought it back to art camp on a whim. With 4 days before the end of camp, the metals teacher said "why not make a helmet." N, I was like, "K." I first hammered out the steel so it would fit better, then added everything else. It fits surprisingly well now, and is quite fun to wear.
The new helmet I made to go with my rohirrim armor. Steel, brass, nickel, leather. The crest is my first real use of acid etching.
