*brings out Sturmgewehr 44* Now this is a big man's toy! World's first assault rifle.

*laughs* the Sturmgewehr was definitely an impressive weapon, but my fursona has a Mauser mainly has a reliable, survival weapon, used for hunting and self-defense, he's using a Spanish Mauser carbine in particular, growing up in Granada(my fictional nation) he didn't qualify to be conscripted into the army because he was viewed to have had aspergers(which bars you from being in the defense forces), so like the Swiss army those who are drafted into the defense forces they get to keep their weapons and gear when they finished(meaning most households in Granada have at least one battle rifle kept away in a homes since every mentally and physically healthy male that reaches 20 is obligated to serve one year), so my fursona missing out on this, he can still legally get a handgun and a bolt action rifle, their old M43 Mausers which, they got hundreds of thousands of them that were left over after they had their independence from Spain but has since been replaced since the 60s, so these Mausers are available for civilians to purchase and use for target practice or self-defense, so that's why my fursona has a Mauser :P

So that's why.

I still prefer the Sturmgewehr nonetheless. After all, it was used by the Waffen SS.

I liked the Waffen SS 3rd Division the most. Totenkopf was its name.

I prefer something more abstract or an animal symbol myself.
