I feel that this head is coming along very nicely. I think I am going to run out of glue-sticks real soon, but that's what wal-mart is for.
If time permits me I should be done with this head within a week or so. But this 3rd shift job is making me drag like a zombie. so who knows when I might be able to get back to work on it.
I was thinking abour making the eyes in this one blue. Instead of the plain black and white I used on the other one. But I am needing to consult the person that may be purchasing it first to see what he thinks. =^-^=
...and yes, I know that the ears look a bit tooney and some of the stripes may look a bit out of place...but that's because non of that stuff is actually attached to it yet. (well, the ears are attached, just not curved correctly yet.) ...but not the stripes or nose, that's still all seperate.. :P I just set it all on there to give me a good idea of what this could look like.

OH. >.> I.. I totally knew that. I was just TESTING YOU. Yes, that's it!
Wow, no wire or anything? That's crazy! Have you ever tried using wire, and if so did you find this method easier?
I really would like to make my own suit someday, I just don't know what method would be the easiest. =P But I would like to have a moving jaw and I don't know what type of base would work best for it.

nope...wires are a pain in the ass. Plus if your mask gets crushed or someone acidently sits on it. o.O it's not going to be permanently ruined. I find that if you just use a positive of your own head and wrap a fabric around it to use as the base to glue the foam on, it works great. the high temp hot glue and foam make their own base form to work from. *nods* as for the moving jaw...I have had some fair luck getting the jaw to move with these masks simply cause the faom is very stretchy and maluable. but to get a really good moving jaw, you could use the paper mache method, like I did with my black wolf mask.
--fur= $15-$40 per yard -(depending on quality, and length. a yard should be enough for a head if your using just the one color.)
--foam= $10 per roll -(the thin frilly stuff...1 roll of that bed foam can make like 2 or 3 heads.)
--high temp Hot glue =$5 for the gun, $5 for 100 gluesticks -(more than enough glue to do one head.)
--paint pallette 3-d eyes = .79 cents -(it's one of thos round paint pallettes that have enough for 5 sets of eyes. -{ http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1060048/ look in the lower left corner to see what I am talking about}- )
--colored felt = .20 cents a sheet (I use this stuff for the black areas around the eyes, inside the mouth, and just about anywhere)
...and for the nose and teeth, I cast my own latex stuff, which is a bit pricey to start with. but alot of people I know use sculpey clay and bake it then paint it.
so all in all, it's not that bad of a price to get one done for yourself. But it does take a LOT of time and patience. and quite a few tries to get it the way you like it.
