Here's a good tutorial to fixing that problem.
Step 1: Pour an ounce of absinthe into glass.
Step 2: Place sugar cube on perforated absinthe spoon, then hold it over glass and drip cold ice water over it until dissolved.
Step 3: Stir.
Step 4: Decide that you've wasted enough time with the absinthe and go get a sambuca instead. =D
