
Yet another view of the military surplus flectarn zeltbahn tent showing one of the improvised 3/4" PVC pipe tent poles. The spike end of the original aluminum tent pole section may be seen poking through the top. This is a one-piece pole and the original military issue pole section fits inside. The PVC pipe and end caps were obtained at a local building materials resale shop and at Home Depot. I found the macrame cord at an area thrift shop. The tent pegs at the sides are store-bought, but could be made from wooden sticks, dowel rod, coat hanger wire, or large nails.
The shelter endured a day and a night in my backyard without incident.
