
From 1992: Groove is in the Heart was originally a poster-sized B&W image. This version was scaled down, painted, and then scanned.
A friend said the style reminded him of Dan DeCarlo, and thus started my long-time interest in the works of the most famous of the "Archie" comics artists.

P.S. That, and, I do have the book of Dan DeCarlo's art....yeah, he did Archie alright, but BEFORE that, he was a GREAT pin up and comic artist (and drew lots of naughty stuffs back in the day!)...

Heh--I've been drawing almost since I was able to pick up a pen. I think the first comic strip I ever drew was called [i]Space Conquest[i]. It featured the humorous mis-adventures of an American astronaut ("Tom") and a Soviet cosmonaut ("Sid"). This would be around (*cough* -ahem- *mutter*)... the late 1960's, when I was about 8- or 9-years-old.
