Where there is light...
There is shadow.
For what is light without darkness to contrast against? Both are meaningless without each other. And so while Arceus is important, he is nothing without Giratina, and likewise for Giratina to Arceus.
Sunlight banishes the darkness, but the darkness is never gone for long, let alone defeated. And the darkness comes and all light is seeped into the blackness. A cycle without end.
All is as it should be.

Ah, the light of Arceus, you do know there are universes parallel to this one that have major differences or are possibly even complete opposites. I have friends who have shown me this, and the worst I've seen was in complete chaos thanks to events which should have never happened.
My favorite legendary pokemon are the three lake pokemon. Mesprit, the being of emotion, Uxie, the being of knowledge, and Azelf, the being of willpower. With the three combined, they can draw out either Dialga or Palkia. The three of them can supress either the Master of Time or the Master of Space and Dimensions. They cannot match the both of them. Not when they are both in the same place.
