The bite of 97
FNAF Headcanon
On all promotional material that had anything to do with Pirate's cove, Foxy was always seen with his first mate Squeeks. The only other female of the Freddy's pizza crew, she could only be found in Pirate's cove and would have long conversations with Foxy, (both with strong pirate accents). She would always tell him how many children were in the room and even try to talk to a few of them.
Promotional toys were made of the crew and as per usual, Foxy was placed with his trusted first mate Squeeks. However, soon after the toys came out, strange things started to happen. Being that squeeks was the size of most of the children that came to the store, and she had free roam of the cove in order to properly count the children, she would start to get too close to a few of them, scaring them.
One day she seemed to glitch and froze with her mouth wide open. A curious child wanting to know once and for all what their tongues felt like, placed his hand in her mouth after which the mouth snapped shut on her hand. Blood pored out of Squeek's mouth being that she had the classic mouse buck teeth the had pierced almost all the way through the child's wrist.
The girl's father was able to wrench Squeek's mouth open breaking her jaw in the process and breaking most of her internal circuits. She let out a loud highpitched scream and was quickly removed from the room by the security guards, and because they could not get her to stop moving, they were forced to dismantle her.
Of course, Freddy's had to pay for the girl's medical expenses nearly going bankrupted in the process. Squeeks was then removed from all promotional material, and pirates cove was permanently closed and they planned on remodeling it.
Squeeks: Captain, I see that we have many a kid here with us tonight!
Foxy: I believe you be right Squeeks. Why don't you count them for us?
Squeeks: Aye Aye captain.

With the incident of the bite of 87 and the bite of 97, Freddy's had no other choice but to shut down Pirate's Cove thus why Foxy fell into the state he is in now but with the plans of remodeling Pirates Cove fallen apart due to the lawsuits of the victims of the bites and the growing paranoia that the other Freddy's locations animatronics could end causing a repeat incident, Freddy's issued that the animatronics at the other locations be up to date however ignoring the Freddy's that the bites took place for some odd reason as well as blocked off Pirates Cove from all guests, making Foxy sad that he is alone and without his first mate at his side but became determined to find a new first mate and what better way to start looking by seeing which new overnight security guard wants to be his new first mate...
