Light and tasty, these make great snacks on the go for work or play. These treats are super simple to make and you can get addicted quick. I used regular red apples for this, but I'm curious to making them with Granny Smith green apples. I think the tartness will be a new dimension in taste.
INGREDIENTS:
6-7 large apples of choice
2-3 tsp cinnamon
1/4 c honey
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 250F. Prepared cookie sheet pans with parchment paper and set aside.
Slice apples thinly crosswise, using a sharp knife (or a mandolin slicer if you're not so cheap like me). Arrange slices on cookie sheets in one layer. Brush the first side of the apple slices lightly with honey and sprinkle lightly with cinnamon.
Bake for 45 minutes (bake for one hour if you think your slices are a bit thicker. I did since I used a knife), then flip and brush the other side with honey and sprinkle again with cinnamon.
Bake for another 45 minutes to an hour. Turn the oven off and let them sit in the oven until ready to serve. They will crisp up as it cools.
I think a certain pony would be proud of me.
