Made a tattoo for Sekur, trying to decide on whether it goes on his arm or his back. Also been working on his background for the fantasy story (the one where , not the one with his brother). This is mainly for his fantasy incarnations, but I don't see anything wrong with the comicbook version having it as well.
In a past life, his full name was Sek'kuris Steelarm. He's a Dragoon (title reserved for master Dragon Riders) and is the lord of his orcish nation (Thinking of Khan for the title, don't want to use Warchief or Chieftain). His nation are known for their expert axe wielders, axesmiths, and dragon riders.
It’s kinda like WoW's Dragonmaw clan, but I really based it much on the Thracia nation from Fire Emblem 4 and 5, in that his lands are infertile for crops, so he gets much of his resources from imported good (they have good ore reserves) and mercenary commissions. He is the direct descendant of their nation’s founder, who was the first Dragon Rider (debating on whether he would also be THE very first orc), and is thus able to wield a legendary axe in combat. It’s a 2H axe he can throw and will magically return to his palm (the handle end that is, the blade end would be… messy).
Still fleshing out the weapon’s background and name (leaning on Tarvos or Garm), but basically it’s made from the ancients (the creators/gods of the world), and it (and many others) was given to mortals to defend the realm with, but over time it has also been used for more selfish gains and was lost many years before Sekur’s birth in a power struggle. Part of Sekur’s main conflict is finding and earning the right to claim it.
He and his people are known for their ferocity... But that’s expected given they are orcs.
His main struggles is keeping his people in check, trying to redefine his (and their) identity), and dealing with both the problems with having ‘Honor Before Reason’ and ‘Proud Warrior Race Guy’ tropes.
