This part of the story is when Katie is in the US, (long way into the story)
While she carried on walking and starting to feel faint from dehydration, Katie decided she should really stop and have a proper rest for a little while and find some water. Soon after she came across a barn. Checking the surrounding area, she thought is was a little close to other people for her liking.
"Oh, well," Katie sighed turning towards it, quickly glancing behind her, making sure no one was about "Beggars can't be choosers", I suppose. It's only for one night any way"
As she entered she saw it was mainly used to store straw bales and by the tidyness of it, she could tell it was used regularly.
"I'll hide myself in a corner," Katie spoke softly to herself, the thought of finally getting some rest, made her too tired to go on any further.
Dragging a straw bales into the corner, Katie opened her backpack and pulled out the cushion she used as a pillow, a throw and her frog plush, she called Jacob, Placing her backpack by the straw bale, she laid herself down and yawned, quickly drifting off.
Jumping awake at a sudden loud noise, Katie looked around wondering what the noise was, gasping when she saw it was a little girl who screamed when she was playing and came across her.
"It's OK, I'm not going to hurt you," Katie coaxed softly, slowly getting up. "No!" Katie cried out, as the girl ran off. Getting up promptly, Katie quickly grabbed her belongings and started to cram them back into her backpack, scared the little girl would get others about her.
"Are you thirsty, Kitty?" a little voice called after just a minute had past.
Turning round slightly, her head looking over her shoulder, Katie slowly looked down at the same little girl standing behind her, being careful not to frighten her.
"Are you thirsty?" The little girl asked again, offering her a glass of water.
"Yes" Katie spoke, turning round and gently kneeling in front of the little girl carefully taking the glass from her. "Thank you"
