As mentioned in Premi's species notes, Premi's species are carnivorous, which is also discovered to be the quirk of Premi's clan when "a converted clan member of an herbivorous species manages to have carnivorous children with another member of her own kind."

Stella is that converted clan member. Her race live in a system of shallow caves in a stretch of mountains not far from the Blue Volcano. They are nocturnal, and strongly affiliated with wind and/or lightning elemental magic. Stella undergoes the ritual to become a cubi after bearing a litter of four (and one stillborn) to one of Premi's nephews. After he dies, she has another two children with one of her own species, both of whom turn out carnivorous as Premi-clan cubi.
