"For Lughnasadh, is a festival of not only life and bounty, but of harvest and death, the complete cycle of life." ~ Christina Aubin, Lughnasadh Overview http://www.witchvox.com/va/dt_va.ht.....ys&id=3558
"I am the grain as it grows and ripens only to be cut down for you; I am the stag, the boar, the bull that dies in the fall to feed you through the winter. By my very nature, I am living, eternal Sacrifice. You must face me.
I am the golden sun of summer, and I am the bleak light of winter. I call upon your desires: Come run the woods with me, come live and die with me, blaze in glory and bleed the ground red with me. For I am the soul of the world; my staff brings ecstasy and new life; my blood feeds the earth." ~Jet Blackthorn, The Charge of the God http://www.cauldronofannwn.com/temp.....ssons/god.html
Done in ArtRage, no references but my own noggin and the lore of the season. Fullview for details.
Lots of symbolism here. It are special. <3

wow. amazing and awesome. I love the wheat sprouting up from the blood. it would be cool to see a version with the bull and boar in a similar style. I LOVE series based off cool ideas. The moon and sun are pretty rad as well. I think the only things I would change are blending the sunlight meeting the night edges more with perhaps one or two more intermediate shades of color and make the deer an orangey red so he doesn't fade into the background so much. But wow, this needs to be my background on my laptop!
I had it as my wallpaper for a while. It's the same size as my screen resolution because ArtRage uses the entire screen. If your resolution is bigger you can just set it to "Center" the image. I always keep the background black so centered pictures have a nice black border.
