I think I recall the metalic fabric is somehow connected to the outer skins of thier spaceships -- didn't you once explain it's more of an "effect" than a "thing" (the individual appearances of the fabic are in fact the same unbroken sheet, spread through the use of higher demensions and peeking into the visable where needed)?

mmmm... less correct. This can be done, but the Kjola have roughly 50 times the strength of a human being even without assistence. But there's much that they can do only with the aid of the ship or some other device. The nice thing about those devices is that they can be worn the same way as the ship "skin" -- as rings, necklaces, garments, or whatever other form you want it to take. I suppose even a nipple ring, though piercing a Kjola's nipple would probably take an effort on the same scale as the bombing of Germany in WWII...

The pose is reminiscent of a hood ornament for an older styled car.
