Heck! I'm not that into BG's, I still want to improve with my poses/characters/anatomy/coloring first. (or maybe I'm just lazy and simple??? hehe) I know that you are really into male anatomy. This looks very good, and I think to help you improve even faster in the future, you should take a few pages to study very basic skeletal, then moreso focus on the muscular system. The more angles and muscles you study, the more natural your paintings will come out. However, I would still recommend using references for paintings you wish to put some more time into, as most artists do. Keep it up! and get on AIM more often damnit!

Reminds me of a story I wrote about a coyote warrior.

I almost imagine that this coyote is the last of his race and that he's carrying the chronicles of his people with him for someone in the future to read. At least that's how I wrote MY story.
