
Hooray for FA being back!
This lovely lady is Argiope aurantia.
I took a few shots of her, but wind made it impossible to take much more. I shall have to visit her again as I'm not satisfied with what I ended up with. She's difficult to get good shots of without overexposing. Her cephalothorax is covered with silvery reflective hairs which easily ruin an otherwise good shot.
Hopefully I'll have more of her up later.

Its almost hard to believe that you're a recovering arachnophobe with so many awesome spider photographs in here. I find it very inspiring that someone can conquer such an irrational fear in such a productive fashion (wish my Girlfriend could take a few pointers).
This spider reminds me of the spiders I saw everywhere in Hawaii that everyone called elephant grass spiders. I wish they had spiders that cool here in Michigan.
