As per usual! got an airbrushing timeline for the raccoon!

Also, cheek fur direction makes a crazy difference!

I actually lightly clearcoat-hairsprayed his cheek fur so it stays a bit more in place! worked amazingly well!

I'm a little curious, why did you decide to airbrush the black mask instead of just sewing black fur?

Black fur tends to be a little too blue tone. Even when airbrush- it tends to be unrealistic when place beside to ivory or browns. But that is my thoughts.

That's a good question! I think it's mostly that I really knew the black would be simple and fun to airbrush onto it! I really enjoy painting masks :) it's my favorite part of the whole process!

Very, very well done.

The colors blend really well and you nailed the fur direction and shape. Your recent work has been outstanding. That yellowy/tan color you used around the muzzle and brows is really nice.

Airbrushing now :) just puts on a much cleaner smoother color than drybrushing tended to!

What kind of airbrush are you using? I've got a starter kit from Harbor Freight and I'm looking to upgrade to something better.

Oh gosh I'm using a like $100 kit from ebay :x it's working fine for me except my airbrush needles have both bent and I need to get another regular airbrush XD the compressor is great though!

yes! a very light coating! works like hairspray on fur! helps to keep some fur pile going a certain direction and staying that way without being mucked up! as long as it's sprayed from afar :3
