I don't always make my garlic knots, so at times I just make a huge batch of garlic butter to use on toast, biscuits, etc. It's really simple and absolutely delicious. Try it on your favorite bread item!
Ingredients:
1 cup butter, softened (1 stick)
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon garlic salt
2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Directions:
In a small bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic and Parmesan cheese. Season with garlic salt, and Italian seasoning. Mix until smooth.
Store in fridge to keep fresh.

Should keep well in the freezer too. One way is to roll it up in waxed paper until you have a long cylinder, and twist the ends tight.
Then you can just cut off segments as long as you need, for the night's cooking.
Should last several weeks in the freezer. (though something this good - lasting several weeks wouldn't likely be a problem. *grins*)
