It was inevitable.

Aurora Goldshine (aka Wendy Gillespie) had spent the last few years in a Portland self-substantiating commune, spending time respecting Gaia, channeling energies through meditation and having nightly bonding sessions with her fellow fur, be them carnivore or herbivore, furred or scaled or feathered.

It was, for all intents and purposes, a hippie culture. And Aurora was proud of their freedom and self-sufficiency.

In the hard road she had clawed through to make it to the top of the Beaver State University basketball team, she had finally made it to the professional league. And as such, she was going to represent her culture, her identity.

A brown fake-leather tassel-jacket vest. An earthy green and brown tie-die longshirt, and bell bottom blue jeans. Reporters and Scouts had joked she looked like she just walked out of Woodstock.

Now, she truly did, with the one addition of the hummingbird pendant given to her by her boyfriend, the sturgeon Ahti Nereus.

And it was cosmic, man.
