So our house has this small room that's supposed to be a nursury, and we've set up camp here and turned it into our kickass studio of awesomeness. On the left is my desktop rig, and then on the right I have my laptop and in the middle my server rack. ouo
Just finished rebuilding the whole server array. It's been almost four years they've been in storage, but they are back! And they are still going strong... These days I use them less for processing and more data storage. Turns out I've collected a lot of data all the years I've been alive.
Atop my server rack you'll see some old 68k macs perched. Yes they still work, and you know what? I'm working on a way to integrate them into my network. Yes, I have found ways to make a 24-year-old computer useful. One of them is going to be an A/UX-based server. Still need a few more parts to make it work right. Rest assured, I'll get them!
As I've said before, this whole house runs on someone else's wifi. Range approximately 550 feet from this house. ...that's a pretty long distance for a stock wifi router to pick up on its rabbit ears, even if it happens to be flashed with DDWRT. I'm rather proud of our makeshift internet. We can't afford the real thing and I'm very surprised to get the performance we do out of it. Weather permitting, I can usually get netflix streaming through it. :D
