Animal Crackers are a shortbread type of "cookie" pressed into the shapes of various wild animals that were made back in the early 1900's by Nabisco, they were sold in small boxes made to look like circus cages and called "Barnum's Animal Crackers", though now there's dozens of different companies that make them :D
