Felt in an photoshoot sort of mood this evening so took my little Cagiva Mito out for a run to a car park and also wheeled into an actual park for some shots!
I've edited 4 so far and this one's my favourite of the lot so far :)
Apologies to my current watchers for posting more bike stuff >.<
The bike may only be a 125cc, and I'm licenced to ride any bike I like... But this little smokey rocket is so much fun it's scary, haha.
Plus it's pretty much my Sona's colours... so bonus points to it!
My little restoration project for over the years. It's a little tatty in places and the photos hide it nicely! :P
Photo shot with a Nikon D5200 on kit lens. Edited in Photoshop CS6 afterwards with additional help of Topazlabs plugins for the sightly more professional look that I can never otherwise achieve ;)
My photos are NOT stock, please do not use them as such.

I have come to love low displacement engines on bikes now. That is a good looking bike. Bet its a blast to ride around ands such, I have a moped (yes.. A moped..) and I love it. It might only be a 65cc kit on it but its so much fun to ride around town and such. And for it being a single speed its gets up to 40+mph with no problem. im looking at trying to get a Derbi senda at some point.. Tho that might be very hard haha.
It really is a blast to ride around...but its also a total pain in the ass (literally), wrists and back! Certainly not a long distance bike of any sort!
The largest CC bike I've owned so far was a 500. Kawasakai GPZ500 to be exact... it was an extremely reliable machine, but by god awaits bit boring.
Currenry on a mix of a Suzuki Bandit 400, this Mito, and a 1990 Yamaha CW50 moped (Little wheelie machine)
I find that the moped is only fun when I've got someone to ride with however.Ever since I hopped on my first geared bike it was an instant realization to me that gears were far more fun!
There's quite a few of the Senda's around here (not sure where you live) and I think Aprillia do one very very similar as well.. only thing with 2 strokes is that they're so picky, temperamental and things tend to break easily!

2 strokes are picky haha. Mine loves 93 octane fuel with Tc-W3 oil. And I agree with them being more fun when you have someone to ride with. I also live in the states, and Derbi's dont make it over here often. And the ones that do people buy up and hide them. Makes me a little sad, but ill get the spare cash and get luck when one pops up for sale again. My current moped and all of its silly little problems is a Hero Puch Turbo sport from India. I will be buying a Honda Hobbit off my friend soon and make that my project bike. Its all in pieces and should be a nice learning experience for me. I just wish I had someone in Mass other than my friend that I could go riding with. All of his Mopeds are down and needing work right now. He is hoping to have his Puch Maxi finish very soon, then after that its getting the Motobecane running again.
Our standard fuel is 95 Octane with the more expensive stuff being 97.... and then there's stuff like Shell V-Power at 99 Octane or something.
As for the oil,, I'm running Castrol Act-evo stuff in it at the moment... Rather smokey when cold!
Shame about the Derbi's not making it over there all that often though! They're nice little bikes!
I will be completely honest and say I'm not a huge fan of any of the bikes you mentioned >.< Design of them just doesn't do it for me!
Building a bike from pieces is something I'd both love to try... and also never ever have to do...
On the one hand it sounds amazing and the end result will be super satisfying as you know you put your own hard work (probably some blood and tears along the way) and soul into building it from the ground up.... but at the same time, I'd look at the pile of bits to make the bike and wish I'd never started!
Sorry I can't help out with the riding buddy situation D:

Thats fine haha. Theres a lot of other bikes I could build up like that around. I just want to try the hobbit because of the design of the engine. That and with the right tuning its a bit of a monster haha. Our gas over here isnt the best.. I keep getting bad gas where i get it from.. I wish we had 99 octane here.. Id love to put that in my moped. As for the building the hobbit, its going to be for my girlfriend first, ill let her have it for a while before getting a better one for her. once i find one thats perfect for her ill build up that hobbit with a water cooled 47mm kit and see what it can really do.
The hobbit was my favourite designed one of the three you mentioned if I had to pick, Engine looks a bit meaty from the Outside... I still love the classic Honda C90/Pit bike engine... those things pack a good thump :P
I had heard the US doesn't get the best of the fuels!.. Though I imagine it's a hell of a lot cheaper... Current price here is around £1.27 ($1.63) per litre for the normal stuff (95oct). It's hit on the bank account every month! Though I can only physically fit about £3.50 ($5.72) of fuel into my moped :P The look on 4x4 drivers faces after they've just paid out £90-100 ($147-163) for fuel is hilarious xD
My Bandit 400 runs best on the 97 stuff... Definitely a noticeable difference running on that. My moped doesn't seem to care what I shove in it. It just run regardless x3
That's really nice of you building the bike up for your other half though... you'll cry at any scratches or dents it ends up with though because of the work you'll have put in xD
Should be fin seeing what you can pull out of that little engine! The engines in the bike in the pic are good for a genuine 100mph. Mine's not quite running right (Powervalve prolem I think) so it doesn't do a touch above a genuine 86 at the moment though :P

haha. I have heard of a few bikes with that type of problem. Im not sure how one would go about fixing it. And i would be sad about it getting dents and such.. I have to get it painted lol. it runs me about $4 a gallon. Maybe a little cheaper lol. I love watching people with big ass trucks over here putting 100$+ in to there vehicals. Its also fun to case around sports cars in area with stop and go traffic. i just piss them off till they turn lol. im going to look and see if theres any RD125LCs in my area or close to it that might be for sale. I need something that goes a little faster than my moped, tho it is getting upgeared tonight, should be fun making that 16 tooth front sprocket fit. and the engine on the hobbits are very nice.. the one im getting is the second gen of them so i can get more power out of it. and if i take the time to tune the CVT drive right on the hobbit it will be a wheelie machine as well. i can tune it to go around 60MPH. tho I might not tune it out that ar haha, might be a little scary! Another bike I am very interested in is a RD250 or RD350. they are a little more common over here. Tho still not that easy to find in good running order. Ill post a pic of my slightly modified Puch soon. I just need to get a good one first!
I've gotta see if it's stuck or whether it's a wiring problem first... I've never had one on a bike before, so that part's new to me!
Filtering through traffic is just an awesome feeling... the thought that people have to sit in the jams and you can just skim past them all with a grin on your face pleases me greatly :P
I had an RD125LC MK2... Bloody AMAZING bike!
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8541431/
If you ever get hold of one, please keep it and restore it and just... never sell it.... or sell it to me if it's a MK2 or MK3 xD
I would do many things to have my old one back. Allspeed exhaust and the headlight off an RD350, took off like a madman when it hit the powerband and gave me an ear to ear grin every time!
I have vowed to own both another RD125 like my old one and also an RD350 later on in life. The amount of love I have for them is rediculous x3
CVT is such a tedious process to set up right when tuning! Just having to get the right mix of variator, roller weights, clutch, springs, etc... gah xD
As for the Puch Picture, if you get a artisticy-sort of shot, throw a copy of the pic over to me and I'll play about with it in Photoshop to see what sort of result I can get out of it... make it look like a speed demon or something xD

it kinda is. Mostly stock other than the exaust and it tops out at 40 no problem. do I am still fighting with my carb, We have a WAYYYYYY over sized PHBG in it right now.. its has a 21mm PHBG carb and we have never been able to fully tune that damn carb right., as for the RD125, Im going to ask my frind to look around and see what he can find on them and any in the area. And Ill see what i can do for the pic haha. We have done a far bit of work to it.. My front forks are off a honda Dirt bike because i managed to bottom out my stock ones and fucked them up big time.. tho I love the hydro forks on it now, wayy smother ride when i head over to my frinds. I just need to get better rear shocks and ill be all set. As for the gearing right now. its a 12t front with a 38t rear. we are taking the front up to a 16. so Im not sure what the top speed will change to.
