My 9th anniversary Keeper of the Grove
So it's that time again, me celebrating the day that I began drawing, 4th September 2005. This year is just the 9th anniversairy, so I'm not doing anything that special.
I "just" wanted to attempt doing the thing that I see many pros do: draw WITHOUT lines. Paint colors over my draft sketch and then shade it......... and it looks awful. I'm sorry.
I picked the Warcraft universe "Keeper of the Grove" for the topic here as I loved his design. I claim to like centaurs, but I don't quite show that ... I guess I need those few extra elements of green and nature for it to appeal to me. I liked that hero a lot in Warcraft 3. Too bad these were not playable in World of Warcraft... Yeah yeah, not needing a mount would give them a huge advantage over the other races, but... come on!
So yeah, I took my old WoW character:

And (sort of) turned him into a deer taur. Yeah yeah, it's bad... however I did not do that badly on the background I guess... whatever, enjoy!

Not bad at all. There's gonna be "lines" in the drawings regardless at the attempt of one, as things against things will need to be separated somehow!
Background looks more spooky than Ashenvale. I've been that area as Hordey, and the only place I remember gloomy was that demon's death place, with the 2 swords in the air.

I wasn't aiming to replicate an actual place in Wow, but if this is the way it looks like to you then I am very happy about that, thanks.
And yes, things need to be seperate, but I see people manage to keep them separate without visible black lines, so I tried to draw like that too and ... failed.
