This is my big project tank. I've been working on it for over a year and a half, starting from just the plain used tank and a crappy stand. My dad built me a stand. I cleaned all of the saltwater junk out from the prior owner, painted the back of the tank black, and got it moved into my house.
I opted for a dirted (Walstad method) tank, so there are layers of fluorite substrate, organic potting soil, and play sand as a cap. I used plastic lighting screen to help slope up the back, but a lot of it settled anyway. The driftwood came from a family member's property and is held down with slate rock that I screwed to the bottom and back of the pieces.
Hardware includes: Fluval FX5 filter, AquaUltraviolet 9w Sterilizer, GreenLeafAquarium pressurized CO2 system, BuildMyLED lights (2x72" 10k), Hydor Coralia circulation pump.
Livestock: Bloodfin tetras, Cherry Barbs, Glowlight Danios, Leopard Danios, Dwarf emerald rasboras (actually a danio), Celestial Pearl Danios, Kuhli loaches, Albino Bushynose Ancistrus plecos (mated pair), nerite snails, Apple/mystery snail, Amano shrimp, red ramshorn snails.
Plants: Aponogeton longiplumulosus, Bacopa, Cabomba caroliniana, Cryptocoryne wendtii, Nymphaea sp, Hygrophila corymbosa siamensis, Microsorum pteropus, Limnophila hippuroides, Ludwigia peruensis, Ludwigia cuba, Sagittaria subulata, Myriophyllum aquaticum, Echinodorus amazonica, Riccia fluitans, Echinodorus angustifolia 'vesuvius', Anubius nana, Vallisneria americana, and a fern I can't remember the name of.

I've not tried them myself as submerged plants, but as I understand it, Bolbitis tend to be tricky to grow as fully-submerged aquarium plants. And a lot (maybe most) aquarium plants that can be grown either submerged or emersed are usually grown emersed i greenhouses, as growth is much faster, so when they finally make it to someone's home aquarium, they're stressed and have to replace all of their leaves to adapt to their new environment.
Thank you! I hadn't put any fish in at that point -- wanted to get the plants and biofilter established correctly. That was a Walstad dirted tank.
That tank went through a few iterations since then, and has now been replaced by a 180 gal acrylic that I've turned into a paludarium.
