Yay for DnD based pictures! This is my lovely Kobold rogue named Saishin, coming to take a swing at her enemies.
I was talking to someone at Berzerkers, and she mentioned trying to use smudging for shading. After doing a small doodle of this picture before, I decided to use that info to create the effect of darkness, where the only thing you can see is what she wants you to see.
I also feel much more adult after this picture. I went out for the sole purpose of buying a red pencil for the blood, and found myself buying my first prismacolor. Kinda corny, but for a growing artist, it means a lot.
Comments and commentary appreciated! I actually enjoyed the smudging portion, so I might try using it for shading now. But that will take another inspiration for another day.
Tools used:
5H, 2H, B, 2B, 9B pencils. Crimson red Prismacolor. Piece of paper towel for smudging.
