My Humble homage to the man that made alot for the furry community, made furry art taken more seriously, thanks to him skunk suddenly turned into one of the most attracktive and sexiests creatures to draw in a fandom full of wolves, vixens and cats, im going to miss him and his artwork alot as well.
James M. Hardiman Aka Skunkworks passed away recently this August 29th due to health issues, he was very known and appreciated into the furry community and even outside it, if you happen to don´t know who he was, here is the link to his account here, i recomend you to check his artwork, it´s simply awesome http://www.furaffinity.net/user/skunkworks/
My condolences to his family, friends and fans.
Knowing how he was, im sure he would liked to be dismissed and remembered with humor and possitive attitude, instead of sadness and mourning.
So here i made him roaming the routes of heaven as the wild and free spirit he was, along with 2 of the greatest passions he has in his life, Bikes and his 3 mischievous skunkettes that most of us know.
I think since he liked bikes alot, this is the perfect tune to farewell him >;) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vppbdf-qtGU not sure if he did dig ZZ top but i guess he must liked at least this theme.
See you in another life dude, i never had the chance to meet you personally, but for the few messages we exchanged, and the brief conversations we had through PM, im sure you been a great guy to hang with and talk, you just left too soon, things around the furry fandom wont be the same without you.
James M. Hardiman those who found inspiration from your work, enjoyed your art and shared your passion for bikes and art we salute you!

I didn't know him as well but I knew of him. Was years ago in a comic shop I found some Radio Comics books and bought them, tried to order more but the shitty store owner sent them back when I didn't come get them while I was saving up money. Was them I found the furry fandom and some of his work was the first I saw. Wish I could have thanked him and could have talked to him...can only hope he wasn't in pain.
Well, over the years he left many hints about the things he liked most, so i guess this picture is the most close way about how he would liked most to be honoured.
Thanks for the compliment about the pic, i would preffered to show it to him befor pass, but if there is a netherlife and his sipirt is still lurking around, i hope Jim liked this pic heh

He was only 42 and started selling strips to Genus magazine when he was 27 or 28. A very talented artist, I didn't know how young he was and he'd gone from us much too soon. He must have spun the wheel of Genetic Lottery and gotten a very bad result to fall to diabetes at such a young age, he didn't have the usual risk factor of obesity from the pictures I've seen. I knew his health was not great but I didn't expect him to up and die on us! I will miss his journals and his art.
James would have liked this drawing quite a bit I think. We had been friends for over 17 years and he was kind enough to do several pieces of art for us as gifts. We hall miss his dry wit and quirky sense of humor. His bravery in the face of so many adversities should inspire us all.

Thanks alot man, I hope it so, you know something? when Jim wrote the last journals talking about his health situation at the end of July, and talked about his kidney problem and the dialisis thing, i had the bad feeling that he may not pass from this year.
I had the idea and images for this homage picture runing in my mind, and just in case i wanted to make it and show it to him before things worsened, i guess if you´re going to make an homage to someoe is better if you show it to him or her when they´re still alive but damn, i couldn´t imagine it would happen so suddenly in August....
unfortunatelly i´ll never have the chance to get the answer from him now, un less there is a netherworld and i could contact him with a Ouija board or something, but i can imagine he may liked it.

NO!!!
Tell me is not true!!
I'm...
I have not a word, nothing to say, as i feel like a massive brick wall fell onto me!
I knew him not personally but his artwork his comment, his comics, his being...himself.. had a profund impact on who i'm now and what I like. Some of his works were also smarter than people gave him credit.
I felt that this is surely one of the grimmest year i've experienced so far....as fan i mean....
I don't even knew he was sick!!!
I feel really really guilty as i should have paid more attention, don't know, being more directly friendly....
Is a lesson...every chance in our life is one-shot only, losing it could mean losing it forever.....
I'm sorry if this comment seemed too long...
And the dots, well reflect my complete lack of words and breath, I feel like something pulled stuff from my lungs right now...
So long Mr. Hardiman, you'll live on in your work and the good feeling(overall and complete) they leaved within lot of people.

Honestly i seen this coming from the last news he posted between middle july and early August.
But i didn´t expected him to leave suddenly in August, when he wrote about going through dialisis, i thought he could still hold on at least till late 2015
Well, at least he isn´t suffering anymore, but i will miss that bastard

Damn you're a fast artist o.o I can't do any type of art that quick, even with the ease of digital art xD very nice picture! I think he would have liked it. Sucks to hear about him :( some of the first art I remember seeing when I got into this wonderful fuzzy world of art lol. Now I gotta start on my tribute pic! XD
