I spoke of a new 'furry addition' to the family previously journal, so here he is! This is Stevie!
Our family adopted him about a week ago from Animal Friends. As you may see, he is completely blind in both eyes. To keep a long story short, he had very painful ulcers in his eyes when he was a kitten that caused him to go completely blind. Since his eyes were bothering him so much, he underwent surgery for them to be removed and his eyelids sewn shut.
Prior to falling into Animal Friends' care, he was at a shelter that killed off the least likely to be adopted animals... for instance, blind cats or other animals with physical disability or bad temperament. Animal Friends arrived JUST on time to save Stevie. If they had gotten to the shelter a day later, Stevie would have been put down. He was scheduled to be euthanized a day later.
It makes me even more grateful to have him in my care!
Despite his troubled past, Stevie has proven to be quite playful. He loves to chase toys of all the sorts and he's very energetic when he is in the mood to play. He's still very shy and doesn't like to be pet much, but hopefully that'll change as time passes.
Over the past week we have been letting him adjust to the new environment by introducing him to one room at a time. Since he's blind, it will take a little while for him to get fully adjusted. I already have plenty of experience with introducing a blind cat into a new home because of 2D/Wiggles. It is my hope that they will become best of pals.

So, so happy to have him. He's so adorable. He has a little snaggle tooth that sticks out if you look close enough to him. xD
Anyway, this little angel has been taking up a bunch of my time, but I've been dedicating what time I have to work. ;U;

I'm glad there are people like you!
I have a cat exactly the same color, but he was removed and sewn eyelid on one eye! He's Morty! https://www.furaffinity.net/view/29456143/ Before that, he lived on the street, and he got to the torturer, which pierced his eye, but not completely... It grew into a plague, half his face was a festering scabs. I almost hit him on the bike - he jumped out of the grass right under the wheels! Good thing I reacted quickly and slow down. I took him home and the next day (because I took him late at night) took him to the veterinary clinic. They told me to fatten him up because he was too thin for surgery. Kitty is wonderful! he likes to ride on his shoulder, so I always walk with him on the street together. I love him very much, and despite the fact that I hitchhiked - he was always with me!
