I have so many pictures of Harui being cute or elegant, I thought I'd get something a little tougher for a change. So, here is Harui in a post-apocalyptic/Fallout setting, scoring some sweet headshots.

I wish I had more of mine from the 90's! I started drawing anthro art back in the 90's, but hadn't found the fandom yet. Because I was the only person I knew who seemed to draw such things, I assumed it was a sign that there was something wrong with me, and so every so often, I'd destroy my art and tell myself I wouldn't do it anymore. It was a sad time!
Found the fandom in 2000 or 2001, Saw I wasn't alone, and started drawing again. I've deleted a lot of the older stuff in my gallery, but I think I may have some of my earlier stuff in there.
I started out drawing wolves and horses. Horses were always my favorite animal to anthro.
Never knew many dragon furs, and for some reason, the thought of drawing dragons never really occurred to me. Kinda odd, since I've always liked them.

I was drawing anthro-ish art before I even knew what anthro was. My sister and I liked to draw out scenes from movies, but since we couldn't draw people, we used animals.
Aw, that is sad. But you should have known you weren't the only one. Didn't you watch Bugs Bunny and Ninja Turtles and such? Even though I had my quirks when I was younger (I used to pretend I was a dinosaur hardcore, even going so far as to assume the stances), I never thought anything was "wrong" with me. I'm sorry you felt that way. :( (And I don't mean that in a harsh way.) Hopefully you don't think so anymore?
I didn't find the fandom so much as was introduced to it. I met my best friend raijenmule in 2001--somewhat ironically because I was drawing a dragon. She was already a superior artist by that time (better than I was or ever will be), but I didn't "join" the fandom until 2004, when she created Harui for me.
Kind of funny that being in the fandom prompted you to draw more, as seeing how much better everyone else was made me want to draw less, and I instead focused on my writing.
