Here is a sweet more romantic try of writing for me. Something to go parrelel with the more serious story lines of JNL.

This idea was suggested to me for my good friend  Fairlyn

It had been several hours since Freya made orbit around a gas giant, putting us in a path that matched what would be the time on earth. At the moment it would be early morning with the sun about to rise.

I smiled as I took a tray with me, planning to wake Gem up, and have a nice romantic breakfast as we watch the sunrise. Of course, we were nearing the end of our supplies, and we may have to go back to Earth to get more. But at the moment there was enough to last us, until at least a few months, if we ration them properly.

I walked into the room on the second deck that Freya had turned into an observation room. I grinned as I placed the tray down and walked back out. I was of course, dressed for the day in my usual attire of my vest and jeans.

I stopped outside of Gem’s door and knocked lightly, “Hey Gem. I got a surprise for you in the observation deck.” I smiled as I waited for a minute before the door opened. There was that beautiful coyote I loved, wearing her new outfit of a buttoned up shirt, jeans underneath her chaps. Of course she still had her cowboy boots and hat, as well as the things on her forearms.

She smiled at me and I returned the smile. Everyone else would still be asleep so it was the perfect time for us to just have a nice peaceful breakfast. I gently took her hand into mine, as I started to lead her to the observation room.

The breakfast was still warm as we sat down, next to each other. Not much, but I know it was the thought that count. “You didn’t have to do this Jack” Gem said as she looked from the tray to me. I smiled, having prepared pancakes, some bacon and eggs, two bits of toast each, and a glass of juice each. “I know I am not the best cook in the galaxy. But, I wanted to have a nice romantic breakfast with you Gem, while we watch the sunrise” I said as I smiled at her.

We ate as we watched the gas giant turn slowly, the colourful gasses being an interesting show of nature. I smiled as I pulled Gem closer to me in a one arm hug as we watched. Soon the sun started to light up our side of the planet, as the sun reflected off the gasses. Shining lights of the domed floating cities appeared, like stars on a colourful night sky. “Look, Jack isn’t that the most beautiful thing you have said” Gem said with a small gasp. I smiled, as I pulled her in closer. “Close, but you are the most beautiful thing I have seen” I said as I gently kissed her on the lips. We broke after a minute as we smiled at each other before turning our attention back to watching the sunrise.
