What I found interesting when I looked at this drawing was thinking about the difficulty of how to show a gillie camo suit in a way that made it clear what it was. While a digital painting could create a gillie suit with brush strokes it might be difficult to tell what it was supposed to be. This style with the painstaking detail of the individual strips made it easy to identify the camo outfit.
It would be interesting if there were two different backgrounds for this, with the second background having low brush that the gillie suit really blends into.
