This is the sketch page of my latest dragonfly inspired character Lamina.

During the process of thinking this one up I came to the conclusion that I didn't want another 'good' character. This had to be a bad apple. And when that arch fell into place I realized a greater potential to the whole idea itself.

Lamina is a Pisidian. An insect race within the world of Ephalon. One that is at odds with the ground ridden Armoridians.

Much like the Armoridians, I shall be introducing 2 new sub species of these Pisidians in the near future.

Lamina is a known and feared criminal among her people. She had been caught and sentenced to life long imprisonment. However, she managed to escape during a prison transfer.

The character design:
Obviously it's not a full on dragonfly anthro. Though in some respects this design is more true to a dragonfly as it should be than the original design was.
- The larger than the skull itself eyes are akin to a real dragonfly.
- The wings are an easier give away.
- Six limbs.
- a long thick segmented tail
- She's been given mandibles more closer to that of an ant, than an actual dragonfly.
- Her sexual organ is actually in between the two pincers at the end of her tail.
- the choice of colours was really a random choice. They literally come in any colour you can imagine. So we went for a rather lovely violet, pink and red mixture.

Fun fact: Dragonfly males rape their females in a rather painful manner to reproduce. However in her species that's reversed ;)

Due to her anthro nature, the mating ritual in their species is the female clamps her tail around the pelvis of the male while he inserts his penis into the female and then due to the tremendous pressure of the female 'crushing' his body ejaculates into her.

Later when the cycle of creating fertilized eggs is complete, the female lays them through an opening near her groin area.

There will be more to come of her in the future you can be sure of that. But for now I'm quite happy :D

Oh yes one last thing. Her name is latin for: Sword of the sky.
