Luna works at a farm, against his will. He has the ability to regenerate and the owners of the farm captured him so they could harvest meat from him. They keep him docile and unwilling to escape by threatening to do the same thing to his family, who share his power. There are two trackers embedded in his ears, which glow faintly blue under the flesh, so that if he does leave the farm, which he does with permission, they can keep track of him.

Despite the fact he is regularly sliced open and cut apart he is cheerful and affectionate towards the owners of the farm, having developed Stockholm syndrome towards them.
