I can haz a Fenrir in my gallery.
I'm on a werewolf spree lately, new woof sketch at every con and meet x3. Couldn't leave this one only with few watercolour washes. So some parts could be made better, like the other axe not hidden behind the tail, and the mountain in the background, which probably doesn't resemble a mountain.
Had an idea of including pieces of torn Gleipnir, looking like the rope Galadriel gave to Sam(thanks Dano for this association - that's exactly how I thought about it), but there's too many details already. I was afraid of ruining everything in the end. Next time ;3.
watercolour, ink, pencils
I'm open for commissions like these :D http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/6096752/

The ferocity in this gives me life <3
And who knows? I sometimes, if I have to cram details into a picture, will just select one horizontal plane and cram all the detail I can into that - it forces me to justify where I'm placing each element, trying to use that constraint and still make the rest of the picture not look empty. (I'll upload a good example soon.)

Heh, unchaining of Fenris usualy meant the end of life, but it's just how you like ^^
I just thought it was too much already. And I lost his anatomy under the long fur which really made me disapointed with my recklesness :< I haven't scan the sketch either. I always say next time! I can do it again and next time to will be better ;D

Haha! Suicidal depression, remember? They're basically the same thing. ^u^ Don't worry about me, I'm pretty good these days... and hey, at least now he can have fun!
Oh god, I KNOW. I use a library scanner, so I really never get a chance to scan my sketches - occasionally, I'll take a picture if I want to remember something, but I paint over them too damned fast.
And here's an example of that detail-plane I talked about. There's two diagonal lines of detail, one running from her white mane to her tail, and one running through those flower arrangements. The rest is either medium detail or simply texture. It helps bring the picture into focus, and makes the textures a bit more abstract.

Yeaa, I'm just to lazy with scanning, but it's good to do it often :<. I'm doing a commission now that I was asked to change two times, and the second time - back to the innitial idea(don't ask, long story). The thing is, I haven't scanned the part that was changed, so I had to draw again the same thing. Everytime I'm drawing something the second time, I have a feeling like it's worse that first version - now I can't even check if it really is X3.
If you do some detailed work - it's really helpful to do a scan or at least take a photo.
Mmmhhhmmmmm... I see.... I have details and rich texture all around. If I do a remake of this one I will have to introduce some composition into his pose and make the directions more determined. This one is quite random ;3

Funny that I'm in the middle of reading a book on Jay Defeo's "Rose..." and the thirteen-year making-of... I'm sorta glad she took photographs of the work-in-progress!
I won't, since we artists hate to remember pieces that get away from them (I've got a single comics page that's taken me two months to paint). When you have to second-guess a piece, that forces you to worry about being judged against something you can't see. That's a horrible, horrible feeling. I want to get into the habit of photos.
Well, what directions are inherent in the pose? You have his hunched-over, slavering face; his arms pulled down by the weight of the axes. That tells you what directions to pull the pose in. And you can certainly fill it with texture, but be certain that's what you want. In this, if the bottom part of the sky was just a flat color, that would create some space for his arms and stuff... But what you've got certainly works in a different, vaguer way.

Heyyyy fenris cool!
Werewolves and vikings are two of my favourite things XD
argh! I will have to find time to commission you too for something similar XP
I always like the fenris in the norse legends but want to write a twist to that legend, that the were-wolf sons of fenris seek to free him from the bad human gods

^^ yes the two seem to go so well together, hah although I have been tempted to create a more feline Viking like a lynx.
You are right he had no sons that we know of ;}, but who knows what else loki had sired, I do recall another of loki's wolf would consume the moon / sun
Had to make a bid on the art absolutely love the theme and the look of the shewolf herself, may have bid again XD

Worth trying out :>. But if I should choose single one species for vikings, that would be wolves. And felines I associate more with slavic people c:.
Ah yes, I do recall such story.
Anyway, I love adding twists to the known myths, such good start-up for fantasy and fairytale stories.
<3 I missed something exactly like this in the fandom. Aw, the winner made the competition quite high. You still get a free print c:

Mmmnn interesting view point, i could see that wolves for Norse and Feline for Slavic as a main species for the population could use that, and of which i may have to commission you for those images as i am very much into my norse and polish heritage. Im polish by blood so anything related gets my attention especially those winged hussars @..@
Must add these ideas to my concept and stories behind my characters.
Yay for prints, I intend to get one at some point. just love the imaged scene and imaging it from my own viking wolfs point of view....think i will have to commission something similar for myself. Yes was quite high competition, but well worth the chance as i think you art is paying that much for.
If only my new job started soon i would have bid again , but never mind ill put something towards it just because i can later
