Welcome to SketchCrap (patent pending). This is a small series I've decided to do where I showcase stuff that's crap. Well, actually, it's not necessarily crap. Rather, it's... Well... if I try some warming up with my sketchbook - or maybe even with SAI - and end up drawing stuff I feel like going against any rules or whatnot, or even if I attempt to draw a style I feel I didn't do any justice on (as much as I want to learn that style), I draw whatever I can and throw it onto here in its own category.
On
's page (he is, by the way, a furry artist I really enjoy seeing the works of and highly recommend watching), I saw a certain drawing of his posted when it was posted back around in May. With the way it was drawn (sketch lines being visible and stuff), I felt intrigued and decided to take a stab at it myself. I figured that if I could break down how
drew the heads and muzzles, maybe I could find the comfortable style of drawing muzzles that I've been looking for (provided that I'd give it my own creative twist to it afterwards). To my utter dismay, however, I felt like I didn't do his style justice. I mean I love how he does the eyes and everything, but I just can't seem to make it look good on my fursona. And if it won't work on my fursona, it probably wouldn't work on any other character I would attempt to try and draw. If you're reading this,
, I apologise for not doing so well with your style. Like how I feel about any other furry artist, I wish I could draw furry artwork even as quarter-decent as them. I'm willing to improve, so I don't mind constructive critiques; it's the only way I'll learn. Thank you very much!
