together with gear feed rack all the bearings (two taper and one axial) morse taper in the spindle - full through hole in the spindle for draw bar, adjustable clearances on the slide part of the quill. sinterd bronze bushings on the shaft that the rack gear runs on... to do step down worm drive on the feed and mount to the mill. (its getting close folks, real close) aka this is one of the reasons you have not seen art or a lotta suiting stuff from me as of late.

yeah that will interesting to see, the taper was put in the quills spindle shaft while it was running in its own bearings. so in theory zero runout on the spindle.\
i put some time into polishing the outside dia of the quill going off centerline, so it should be pretty good on linear run-out and the beds were created using a good granite flat and scraped,,, soooo in theory it all should be good. we will see tho...
