The harvestman aka Daddy Longlegs is not a spider. The thorax, head and abdomen are all fused together. They also have two eyes instead of the typical eight that spiders have. These arachnids are not venomous. They have a widely varied diet that includes: aphids, caterpillars, beetles, flies, mites, small slugs, snails, earthworms, spiders, other harvestmen, decaying plant and animal matter, bird droppings and fungi.
