I second this. I live in Santa Catarina, the state where Blumenau is. And I'm considering moving there cause nurses get jobs super fast there. Its a deeply rooted German descendant community. In fact the city has a law that German is a required course as well as Portuguese so a good chunk of people from there also speak German due to being raised there. Its also known for hosting Brazil's Oktoberfest which I am sure you know what it is being German yourself. Traditional German party with lots of different beers and there is plenty of cultural things from Germany as well but I dare say there is a hint of Brazillian mix with the bunch. I have no idea where you are state wise but if you feel like swinging down south for that, do that. Just be warned that down here is temperate so its not hot tropical like up north and it even snows here in Santa Catarina in the mountains! But the weather started to warm finally, we had a pretty chilly and relentless winter this year.
