I sketched this in a random fit of insomnia the other night. It hearkens back to when I was a weird kid and I would rather stare at the moon than sleep at night. I used to find it when I could from where ever I was and stare at it and ponder things.
Why is the moon there? What does it mean? Can it see me? Does it care?
The "face" in the moon always seemed sort of sinister, to me, though I never perceived the moon that way. I thought of it like a mean face it put on to hide behind so we would never find out how soft and nice it really was on the inside.
Photoshop + Intuos 3. Somewhere between 8 and 12 hours.
Please don't steal this. It makes me happy.
EDIT: see a lighter version of this HERE.
