Odenya Rises
‘These tunnels are old’ was the first thought of the cloaked vixen as she entered the old dusty tunnels. Spider Webs and dust from centuries of disuse coated the tunnels. Writings from a previous culture covered the walls, their meaning and how to speak them, lost to the whispers of time.
The vixen stopped as she moved the sphere of light closer to the walls. She reached up and wiped parts of it away, to reveal some of the writing along with pictures. It frustrated her, that she couldn’t read it even after putting so much time in research this area and the language. ‘I will figure out your meanings’ she thought as she stared at the wall for a few seconds.
She turned around, letting out an angry huff before continuing her trek. The magic ball of light now hovering in front of her, a staff gripped in her hand. The light reflected off the jagged, dark purple crystal imbedded in the staff. She paused and looked behind her; in the distance she could hear the heavy footsteps coming closer. ‘Those mechanized golems shouldn’t have followed me’ she thought before turning around and continued down the tunnel.
Far behind her, a squad of combat robots stepped and looked around. The pounding of their feet shook loose dust from the ceiling that fell in the spot lights, showing the dust falling to the ground. “Subject detected in tunnel Delta 54. Unknown what she is after” the lead robot said, its report going back to the government force leading on the planet. “Pursue her, and bring her back! We will show this so called sorceress that we are not to be messed with” the commander sent back. “Understood” the lead robot said before starting to march again, the others in the squad marching as well.
The search brought the vixen to a chamber, with many ancient texts. A lot of them, unreadable, others talking about a possible end of the world, one having something about, ‘They are always watching,’ but she just dismissed them as the rumblings of a doomed culture. Her eyes scanned the chamber, looking for her prize. A vase caught her eyes and she smiled, her grey eyes sparkling as she saw the symbols on it, matched what she learned in her research.
She walked up and removed her hood, revealing a Marble Fox. She had black patches around the eyes which go up and form an arch on her forehead, bottom fur of her muzzle is black. Her ears had grey fur lining them. She was wearing dress that on the back forms into a cape for the legs while the front is split with two openings, one to display the increased cleavage, and then to show off the belly while draped down the front is a wide ribbon that can conceal the legs when standing still but in motion flows back and forth. A belt with a number of pouches containing stone and metal was around her waist.
She removed the precious scroll from the vase and read it, smiling as she had managed to learn this part of the language. She placed her staff up against a wall, as she started to move things around. Stone, metal and feathers removed from her pounces as she placed them on the ground. The sound of the footsteps getting closer as she stood up. Reading the scroll again, she started to chant, the fur on her forehead starting to glow as she cast the spell.
Magic started swirl around the chamber, as she continued to chant. The robots by now have entered and brought their weapons up. “Subject is casting energy field. Scans show it to be unknown” the lead robot reported back to its commander. “Disrupt it and bring her in” the commander ordered, watching a live video feed form the robots. “By your command” the robot said, before stepping forward.
“You will not win mechanized golems. Magic is more powerful than technology and this shall prove it” the vixen said, pausing a bit in the chant. She smiled and shouted to the ceiling, “ARISE TYRA! ARISE AND SMITE MY ENEMIES!”
The whirling vortex intensifies as the pile of stone, metal and feather swirled around growing larger and larger. Then they pulled in as a flash appeared, as the flash died down, a new figure stood in the room. A tall gryphon female stood there, Feathers on the torso are a mix between silver and gold colour. Beak is silver, eyes are purple. Lion part is a dark brown, with red fur on the tail and feet. Armour cladded her body as a power hammer rested in her hands. She snapped her eyes opened and looked to the vixen. “You summoned me?” she asked in a voice that was clear that she was a fighter. “Yes, mighty Tyra. Smite these mechanized golems, so them that magic is superior!” she said. The gryphon nodded, “It will be down.”
The robots brought their weapons up and fired. But Tyra was quicker, closing the gap and with a yell brought the power hammer down, smashing the robots head with a crack of metal meeting metal. She spun around and her powerful talons on her left hand, slicing through the metal of the robots chassis, exposing the inner wires and circuits. The ruined robot crumbled to the ground as Tyra turned to face the others.
With the warrior scream she leaped forward, her hammer coming in from the left, smashing a robot’s head clear off its body. Her tail gripped the arm of another as she spun around and kicked it hard punching a hole in its body. She brought her hammer down on another, crushing the head with ease and forced it down as the hammer split it in half.
She turned and advanced on the last robot as it fired on her. A magic shield appeared as it deflected the blasts of the laser. Tyra brought her hammer up about to end its function. “Wait!” the vixen said, causing Tyra to look at her. “You know the rule I am summoned, I kick ass and leave. What do you want?” she asked, clearly annoyed at being stopped. The vixen stepped forward to the robot. “I know you’re listening and watching. I speak to the captain of this galactic government. I will free my world, and you and your mechanized golems will fall before me! I got two words for you: Odenya Rises!” Odenya said before stepping back and nodding to Tyra. The gryphon smiled as she brought the hammer down hard on the robot. “There, it’s done. Summon me if you have use of me again” Tyra said before she vanished in a light, the feather, and metal and stone used for the ritual falling down to the ground.
Odenya smiled as she picked them up and returned them to her pouches. “Oh I will” she said before getting her staff and leaving again with the scroll.
