This is my favorite character from Anastasia, hands down. He was cute, funny, energetic and memorable. Every time he was on screen he was fun to watch. And even though he didn't have very many parts in the movie, he is the first character I think about when people mention the movie Anastasia.

All of that praise aside though, I don't think he fit in with the movie well. He was the only talking animal in the entire film and he also did very little to serve the plot if I recall (besides help lighten up the strange visuals during the scenes where Rasputin was falling apart like an raggedy corpse in the underworld). But I think that's what made him the most memorable character. The fact that he stuck out so much from the rest of the story worked in his favor.
