I have so many questions to this but I doubt any of them even matter because it likely wasn't a very detailed commission request. XD I assume it was 'I'd like my fur doing X in Y and looking Z', so I'll just put my question ramble away and leave this in it's place. :)
But yeah, I concur with the others, nice. Oh, and to answer the question about, he's right handed. Your strong hand holds the blade by the hilt while the weak hand (in this case, left like me) holds the pommel or is tied with a buckler or shield.

I know, but the dominant hand is always stronger and is used to grip the hilt. Discovered this myself after trying to get comfortable with my stance. Also discovered I, sadly, could not use two blades at once as my left arm refuses to operate at the same speed and strength.
In my case, I can't resist swapping back to a single handed style. I can use a rapier to an extent and I understand two hands on a blade can increase the strength, but I just find myself wandering back to a single handed style. Ironically, I'm stronger single handed. XD
That said, as good as blades are, I'd be more suited to Neko-Te. My body is a better weapon as I'm adapted to my primal side. I can still use guns and I love a good rifle, but no weapon ever feels as good as my own hands and teeth. :3

My case, I don't really have formal training. I used what I had to to survive (it's a long story) and adapted to suit my problems. Not really a fan of full on fighting cos I'm a stealth guy (one shot, one kill in a manner of speaking) but I don't hold back when I do. The primal part came with the job, funny (to me at least) story behind it. Oh, and I love knives. ^^

Figured you were forces. That or someone with a lot of violent hobbies. :P As for fighting to win, I sometimes get malicious enough that I fight to wound for fun. Rarer still is when I lose control and aim to kill, but I've always been pulled off (I tend to fight with allies) once someone notices. It's not a side of me I like letting out for obvious reasons...
